Any chance we get off the WL for Tyler or SWS for prek3?

No chances, sorry.

Anonymous wrote:PK3 mom here and this all super new to me. We are moving to DC this summer and planned to rent near whatever school worked out. My priorities were Spanish for Pre-K and a school near Spanish daycare for my younger daughter, or somewhere both could attend together. We may not live in DC forever so I was less concerned about K-5.

Lotto results anticlimactic because I ranked Bethune 16th St first and matched. I think that's good news? We liked the Spanish and location. Trying to connect with other parents there to learn more. Nearby daycare could be Mana or Estrellitas. Also would love to do free Pre-K at Estrellitas -- on waitlist.

We have spots at Communikids in Cathedral Heights (daycare for younger and "free" pre-k for older -- lots of extra costs for food and before/aftercare, but they have been operating during pandemic). Any thoughts on whether Communikids would be better, or Bethune+daycare?

Thanks!

Have you looked at CentroNia for both? It has a free PK program like Communikids. It can sometimes be hard to get into the daycare, but we have had good experiences in the daycare and PK program. With a kid in the PK program you might get a bump on the daycare waitlist.

+1 for CentroNia for both daycare and PK.

For K
Matched- SELA
Mann-51 ( first choice)
Key- 31 (second choice)

Any chance getting Mann?? It looks like little to 0 spots open up every year. Chances getting into Key? Looks like their list moves more.

Thank you

Cap Hill is not in a swing space. It’s in its new and renovated old building. PK is in a brand new addition, just opened this year. Great new facility. Welcome aboard.

Currently rising Kingergartener is at Sela and we are happy there except for no feeder options. We've gotten into Hyde Addison and are 8th on the waitlist for Inspired Teaching. Really on the fence about going to HA and dealing with a bad commute from Petworth, counting on getting into IT because it goes through 8th grade and is pretty convenient, or staying at Sela and seeing how things play out in the future.

Who cares? Why can't it turn into a 2022 thread?

People are responding to 2021 questions. It is dumb.
