Perhaps you might consider reaching out to her directly to educate and better inform yourself. Anyone who is legally qualified to be on the ballot is legally qualified to be on the ballot. The perspective of a young-ish person without kids would be just what the county needs.

You think it’s fair and square for Katie Cristol to have given a coworker a prime committee slot, in order to give her “experience” to run for SB in a county she’s lived in for less than a two years? The scales have been tipped in favor already, that’s what people here are complaining about.

That’s your interpretation and you’re entitled to it. I would simply invite you to do your research and know your facts before making false accusations. This is hardly true. She showed up, did (and continues to do) the hard work when no one else does. There are openings on several commissions and I encourage you to apply. Put up or shut up!

She is not doing the work that "no one else does." That is ridiculous. There are plenty of people working hard, putting in hours on committees.

First, I'm a democrat and one of the many people who have criticized Christina, so I don't understand your idea of a "republican talking point." Second, yes I have met her and asked her educational questions. She did not know what she was talking about. She uses buzz words and thinks she can apply consulting metrics on real lives. She does not understand the neighborhoods, the logistics of Arlington nor the history of APS. On a minor note, she had no clue we were short on bus drivers, short on spaces to park buses, and that because of those things, bus routes often have to be combined at the last minute. No clue! Her response was that we should buy a better computer model to make our bus routes. My kids buses have always been full - 3 kids to a seat. A better bus route would not solve that. She has no clue of the on the ground life at APS. and that was evident in her speech. It was all about her and then sounded like a high school election with consultant jargon.

Really? No one else does this work? She is all by herself saving APS? Plenty of us have "put up" for years before she even moved to Arlington. Other forums have made it clear that people with more experience applied for committees that she is on and they didn't get chosen. She obviously had an in.

Here are bios for each member of the JFAC. People can read and decide for themselves whether Cristina has a similar record of experience and community engagement as her fellow members, whether she is “an accomplished policy analyst”, as well as speculate how she was selected for an important committee.
