Also, the person above who claims Cristina "helped implement ESSA"-- that made me spit out my coffee. She spent *1 year* as a legislative "fellow" in Senator Whitehouse's office-- which anyone on the Hill will tell you is a fancy name for an internship. Not to mention that most of the work implementing federal legislation gets done by the agencies and not on the Hill. But keep padding that resume Cristina.
Building off the ridiculousness that Christina helped shape ESSA....the law was signed in 2015 which means most of the “shaping” happened when Christina was still a STUDENT. It was signed when she was barely into her first ever job as a TFA ill-equipped teacher. Let’s vote for candidates with actual experience and roots in Arlington.
Love all the republican taking points in this group. When the voters hear from Cristina personally, I believe her message will resonate with them. Change is coming!
So criticizing someone for exaggerating their resume is a "republican talking point"-- no, it is not. At best it is dishonesty to exaggerate your work experience, and at worst an outright attempt at fraud. But then again, she is Katie's protégé, so to be expected.
First... I was referring to the overall tone in this group. Secondly, have you personally interacted with her? Don’t make assumptions about what you think you can gather online. Perhaps you might consider reaching out to her directly to educate and better inform yourself. I’m very excited that a young person has decided to run for office and I can’t wait to see this play out fair and square! You all have fired me up even more and I hope it’s not too late to host a meet and greet. Who knows, she might just win you over too! See you at the polls!
First, I'm a democrat and one of the many people who have criticized Christina, so I don't understand your idea of a "republican talking point." Second, yes I have met her and asked her educational questions. She did not know what she was talking about. She uses buzz words and thinks she can apply consulting metrics on real lives. She does not understand the neighborhoods, the logistics of Arlington nor the history of APS. On a minor note, she had no clue we were short on bus drivers, short on spaces to park buses, and that because of those things, bus routes often have to be combined at the last minute. No clue! Her response was that we should buy a better computer model to make our bus routes. My kids buses have always been full - 3 kids to a seat. A better bus route would not solve that. She has no clue of the on the ground life at APS. and that was evident in her speech. It was all about her and then sounded like a high school election with consultant jargon.
