Friend is having affair - wants to bring "other person" on a group trip

Thank you OP for the update! That was a great report. I have friends from college years who live in Brussels and London - a married couple with kids, long distance -and I feel like my friend may be having an alternative lifestyle as well - a one way open marriage so to speak.

Do you think this is more of a European thing /open marriage situation and do you think this set-up is more accepted in Europe? I wonder..... with the stereotype of the French...etc...

Anyway thanks for update!

OP here:
All my friends are American. Newbie B and his wife, Spouse X, are the only Europeans.
I think this may be more of an ex-pat thing: they tend to be more adventure seeking, open to new cultures/ways of doing things, and just generally more lax about sex. IMHO.

Don’t think I could remain friends with A. Too much drama and bad behavior.

Holy guacamole that was crazy

PP here, interesting, I also was an expat for a while and did observe more stuff happening and more fun-seeking, generally...

Anyway, thanks for the update that was a Greta snow day break read from work!

Newbie B was wise to heed Friend C's counsel. Friend A seems excessively drama-seeking.

Thanks for the update, op!

OP thanks for the update!
You all handled a difficult situation so well. I think you are just more accepting than the average DCUM / DC reader. DC is VERY conservative!
If friend A is not happy in her relationship and wants and needs to get out then she owes it to herself to do that. She’s not responsible for Bs marriage!
Some people are just not ready to settle down. You don’t post your ages but you all sound young and full of life.
Carry on ! You sound like a great group

OP here:
We are early to mid 30s. All of us have lived and/or worked overseas. In fact, I was the only person on this trip who is not an expat.

Wow. Thanks for the update.

This would be a great movie. Like an updated version of The Big Chill.
