Glad to hear about another great school!

jesus, who cares? WTF is your colleague that insecure? Y'all are ADULTS if you're in the working world. Nobody should care about what school you went to anyway. Actually, conversations like that are a great way for me to weed out the losers I don't want in my life.

+1. Davidson is an ok school. But it is obscure and not well-known outside of the small East Coast area. Students tend to do well upon graduation. Trend however has been more towards medical school than anything else.

Have heard of it:

Yes. Good school. Growing reputation.

Sure. Kansas University men's basketball beat Steph Curry's Davidson team in the Elite Eight to go on to win the 2008 National Championship.

An "ok school"? You certainly have high standards! What do you call the roughly 99% of schools ranked below Davidson?

That was a great game! I was routing for Davidson since they were the underdog & it was heartbreaking when they missed out on the Final Four by one basket (or was it 2 baskets? I just remember it was extremely close). I'm guessing a lot of the people whose brackets kept getting busted by Davidson that tournament weren't so heartbroken, though In any case, it's pretty suprising that a school Davidson's size can even hack it in Division I basketball without repeatedly being trounced so the fact that they got as far as they did was highly impressive!

Yes I have. Davidson is making a huge push in the NE and out West.

I heard of it and I am from Easter Europe. DS even considered applying. But, you learn these things when you have kids in high school. Also, when your kid would rather go to a great Southern School and not suffer frostbite in the Northeast.

Yup. ESPN was talking about it last night during the Warriors/Hornets game.

Of course!

I'm from the West Coast, and I'd never heard of it until my DC started looking at colleges. It's in the south somewhere (North Carolina) and is supposed to be a good school. An acquaintance's kid goes there. He got merit aid, his dad told me, and likes the school.
