I'm anxious to hear the news myself. But I can wait longer if it means the administration can let the process play out fully. Based on what we've heard, they've been negotiating leases for a while, and I'd hate for them to concede the upper hand to the LL based on a false sense of urgency.

I think we can all be patient, if necessary, but I'm pretty sure they would have let us know by now if they didn't think they'd make their own deadline.

I'm the PP poster above, and I think I misunderstood your message. I agree with you that they'd have said something by now if they didn't think they were going to meet the end of September deadline, and that we'll probably hear something soon.

I would be ok with that for one more year.

we will all be ok with this, of course, but the long term uncertainty isn't good for school, so I hope there is more information available. And it's only going to get harder to find space as era estate in be increases.

They are definitely not renewing the lease with ITS because ITS needs the space next school year

Remember the IT moved twice before their current location. MV had 2 prior locations, LAMB , Stokes, CCPCS many moves.

It may take times through different configurations until the final location.

Basements of churches, above the CVS, I don't even know how to describe year 1 of MV. There may be a bunch of transitions before a final space. You should be thankful for the parents and administrators who made so much headway with DCPS and DC Gov't.

Maybe they'll take over the unused half of Bunker Hill ES now that their middle schoolers are gone. Colocation of DCPS and DCPCS would be a smart use of resources.

Here's my wild speculation:

- They will tell us tomorrow, not because they have waited until the last minute to make the announcement but because the decision was under embargo until tomorrow

- It will be a current charter school that is moving or closing, and they wanted to time the announcement because they also have to tell their kids' families

- It will be further east than now in ward 5

- It will be a long term location, with green space and room for the school to grow
