The design of the bomb may also point to a returning military vet. They see a lot of those in Iraq. They have brain injuries and/or PTSD and/or a lot to be pissed off about.

Yeah, I've seen that. I doubt it. Do you remember who Richard Jewell was? He was blamed for the Olympic bombings. My guess is that this guy is just a college student who went down to watch the end of the race and was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
