Snow day Monday?

Agree. Two hour delay fine. What saddens me is that we are so used to FCPS closing we aren’t even surprised. Just another no school day as usual.

Such a joke.

Lots of power outages. Quit being outraged.

This is a joke. It’s 2-3” of snow. 2hrs delay was the right call. My child is bringing home work that the teachers just skipped because of all the snow days, this is out of control.

Good call. We have no power since 8pm.

they can sleep in.

we will have a nutritious breakfast.

and before we can indulge in relaxing, we will go over their subjects they would have had tomorrow to keep content fresh in their brain.

it may be a snow day...but we keep learning front and center in my home.

Great for you. I work in a salon and my DH is a shift worker in a hospital cafeteria. Do you smell your privilege?

what i smell is jealousy.

either get a better job or wed a better wage earner and you won't have to be sour about other people's reality.

No this one is valid. The snow ended up being nothing. A 2 hour delay will easily melt whatever did fall. All the districts called this one way too early. A delay and then reassessment at 5 am would’ve revealed no need to actually cancel. As a teacher I’m peeved … we had remediation for SOLs scheduled, there’s sports tryouts and such, and the kids have had a lot of interrupted instruction. This one did not need to be a cancel. I’m half wondering if they’ll walk it back to a delay though I’m not sure they’ve ever done that.

I heard there are a lot of accidents from the commuters out there. Maybe a delay would have been fine but it’s tough to call, especially with the uncertain forecast.

Our sidewalk is completely iced over. It looks clear in spots, but is only ice. I am assuming those of you who are arguing about 2hr delay vs closed don’t have actual responsibility in the matter and I pity those who do at this point.

Right call FCPS. It’s a sheet of ice out there. Our neighborhood road was plowed and it’s still ice.

I woke up at 5 to shovel. It was easy to clear the driveway and sidewalk; however, snow flurries continued to fall and now the area I shoveled is very slick. An Amazon delivery guy came by and said some of the side roads are slick. I think it was a good call given the uncertainty — at least concerning the buses.

The roads are perfectly fine. Only on grass now. Send these kids to school.

The outrage about the closure is insane.
Went home from work last night and glad I safely home, drove 20 mph along the way. The roads is yucky and some spots are slick.
And how all these people think it’s magically gone this morning and kids and school busses should just do their “routine”.

I just drove and it’s completely fine! By 9 am it’ll be even better. I fully support closing when it’s unsafe and rarely gripe about a closure but this one is overkill.

Roads are fine. It’s just slush. Fed govt is 2 hour delay which is what FCPS should have been
