So...on-time for Tuesday, right?
2hr delay? The melting isn't significant enough to be icy at 640am when it's barley dawn/sunrise and MS kid walks to bus stop. |
| Reid is probably kicking herself right now. Haha |
CLOSED FOR THE WEEK Maybe next week open 2 days all week OPEN ON TIME IN 3 WEEKS FROM NOW |
I really wish Jeff could block people for yelling, not that you are yelling but that one poster is annoying... I would be surprised if there is a delay for tomorrow. It is not going to be that cold and the snow is going to melt with dry pavement in most places. It is FCPS and I don't know the conditions in other places but where we are, 20171, the streets are fine and the sidewalks have mostly melt on their own. |
And two hours for each of our delayed openings. |
| No reason for a delay tomorrow. |
This storm was very strange - there are parts with zero snow and others with plenty. I work in MD right across the river and the roads there are now dry and no snow. At my home in Vienna the sidewalks are still covered if people have not shoveled. I think they will go on time tomorrow. I also think it was the right call to cancel today. I can see why someone who lives in the part of the county that got little to no snow might be upset. This was just a strange storm. |
Yeah, it was. I imagine we will be on time tomorrow but, then, it’s completely clear in my neighborhood. |
| Great call for today. We had no power over night. We had to shovel out cars, driveway, and path to our front door. |
| I went out for the first time half an hour ago and it occurred to me that I just backed out like normal, didn’t even have to think about no shoveling. Our driveway doesn’t even get much sun, but it has all melted. I imagine I would have needed to shovel had I left early this morning. I think a delay tomorrow would be overkill. We were in that band that got the heaviest snow and it’s really fine out on the roads and sidewalks now. |
Sounds like a two hour delay would have been adequate for your needs and safer for your kids than an unheated house. |
|
Never mind the school system being closed, I can’t believe the county govt closed today. If they couldn’t go to work, no way the school system could open. The county got used to follow the feds and rarely closed.
BTW - am I the only one who thinks the county govt closing so much has been ridiculous? |
| On time tomorrow! Just got the text. Thank goodness as I have a morning dentist appointment shortly after drop off that would have been difficult to reschedule. |
| Yes , its absurd. All adults went to work today like normal, except county employees |
| Yes it was really annoying too bc that meant rec centers were closed as well and if schools are closed at least our kids can sometimes to swim to get exercise. No reason that the rec centers needed to close they could have opened a bit late. Even 2pm would gave been fine. |
