Well, at least democrats aren’t hateful and divisive, lol

Yep, dems are the least hateful and divisive people I know

Yep, they sure are.

Their latest candidate:

I sure hope you hold your fellow Republicans to the same standards!

I won't hold my breath though, because if it weren't for double standards, Republicans wouldn't have any standards at all.

Now that Democrats have been declared vermin/the enemy of the state and they show no sign of breaking with the party, I am beginning to feel a sense of growing unease around them which borders on fear because they hold actual political power. Our large extended family is full of people that the Republican party punishes. I imagine this MAGA relative feels absolutely zero emotional connection between the policies they vote/advocate for and the people they claim to love. Or do they?

In my mind, they are a complete disgrace to the memory of our WW2 veteran grandfather and our entire family. Their humanity is dead and I feel a loss of integrity every time I interact with them. I hope they lose their seat in the next election and eventually FAFO.

You are right to worry. In China, local government turned in people they didn't like during the cultural revolution. Of course the same will happen to billionaires, but family members will be the first to turn people in.

I don’t have MAGA family but I keep my distance from co-workers, neighbors, etc who are MAGA. I don’t trust them. They are ok with people who look like me being picked up randomly by ICE. They are ok with the federal government being gutted. They don’t dare question anything this administration is doing which makes me believe they are willing to throw anyone under the bus.

Yes, there’s the sad matter of grandchildren not seen growing up, but as those children mature, they will come to resent their parents for keeping them from them and denying them such a crucial piece of childhood. They will not forget this.

But on balance, this is a net positive for regular normies everywhere, as they are freed from the burden of dealing with the angry scold liberals they have the misfortune of being related to.

You’re all doing the right thing. Cut them off.

Have you ever been to a Pride event? Drag brunch? Women’s march? Experienced what it feels like to not hate your immigrant neighbors? Been part of a peaceful chalk the walk protest? Do you know how freeing it is to not just blindly buy into archaic beliefs about religion, marriage, and economics? To feel passionate about social injustices and helping others?

I grew up in a red state thinking I was conservative for years and I know first hand that living life paranoid that immigrants, trans people, etc. are out to take things from you is an exhausting way to live. And surrounding yourself with angry conservative men who base their ideas of masculinity on ridiculous charicatures and quote idiots like Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro, Charlie Kirk, etc. is draining. Also there is a reason Grindr blows up at Republican conventions. So many of these men are repressed and angry.

I’ve become increasingly liberal over the past decade and it’s so much more fun caring about others and not just buying into the garbage that churches and billionaires shill to control the masses.

You don't even see it, do you.

You: not hating group X, but hating group Y instead

This is really stupid. I care about all humans so just stop with the BS. If you are cheering on inhumane treatment of others....I do hate you and I don't care if you are x y or z

Yup the neighbors near me who put out all of their disgusting MAGA signs. I don't even wave anymore-we have nothing in common.

I don’t understand why maga is so self righteous, we only need to look at history…
Those who worked with or sympathized with Nazi party were ostracized and prosecuted. It is right for me to protect myself and my family from that. If someone wants to be maga, they know the risk.

Same! It’s bizarre because the wife works at Social Security office, and rents apartments to illegal immigrants.

That’s why we have ICE. The undocumented are just guinea pigs.

Imagine feeling morally superior because you go to drag brunch. I suddenly feel like we might have been a bit harsh with all those men who used to eat lunch at strip clubs. Fast forward 20 years, going to gay or trans exhibitions are a virtue symbol.

I've never been to a pride event or a drag brunch. I'm not spending my life arguing against them or trying to create policy against them. I'm liberal.

Do you hate murderers and rapists?

Wondering what hate sounds like, check out the look Politico story. Leaked messages expose Young Republicans’ racist chat - “Thousands of private messages reveal young GOP leaders joking about gas chambers, slavery and rape.”

Sometimes it’s safer to distance yourself from people who normalize hateful language that dehumanizes others.

I can't believe anyone allows politics to keep them apart from family. Truly. And I feel reasonably strongly about my politics. But love for my family and my desire for my children to grow up near grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins is far stronger than anything else. Teach your kids that people have different values and different opinions, and that we don't slice out of our lives people who have different perspectives.
