Maybe if we stopped coddling this generation of kids, they would wear jackets and gloves and walk to schools and bus stops

Great, can you lobby for all of us to get your privilege, such as sidewalks. Not very safe for kids to walk in the street with cars slipping and sliding.

nope, you have to pay for that.

"*THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM ALERT MONTGOMERY*

The National Weather Service has issued another Cold Weather Advisory for Montgomery County from 10:00 pm Tuesday, 1/21 to 10:00 am Thursday, 1/23. High winds and freezing temperatures are possible and could drive the wind chill value as low as -10 degrees Fahrenheit. Dress in layers to prevent frostbite and hypothermia. Bring pets and livestock indoors for their safety.

Why can't you walk on your sidewalks? We barely got any snow. Wear boots or closed toe shoes. If you're clumsy, find a walking stick.

Many MoCo neighborhoods have no sidewalks.

Then walk wherever you walked before, whether that's on the street or through the yards.

Livestock and pets should be inside but...bus stop waits? Walkers? I had hypothermia in MCPS high school but through no fault of MCPS bc everything was a snow day back then.

They're not holding school outside. You won't need to be outside for long. Bus riders and walkers will be fine for ~30 minutes.

They got more snow, more rural, and smaller district means fewer students impacted by "learning loss" whatever that means, and probably fewer FARMS less to worry about providing meals. Mcps wants to open to feed students.

If that's the reason they have about 1 hour to announce before it it just looks like a big middle finger to families that have to plan for tomorrow

Wear a coat. It's not that cold. We're going to be above the cutoff for outdoor recess in northern states.
