Why did Kamala lose ?

America is as misogynistic as Saudi Arabia. America is still racist and sexist.

Biden was correct. He was the only one who could beat trump.

Dems should learn well how to mimic Trump's Roy Cohn lessons on winning--lie, cheat, steal, murder. Do anything but win.

May God have mercy on our democracy. Trump has the entire government and he will eviscerate the Bill of Rights. Even worse, is Vance as President because Trump's health is so bad that don't be surprised if he keels over before
Jan. 20.

One thing I don’t understand - seeing lots of reports of long lines. When that happens, elections tend to go blue. How didn’t it happen this time?

Republicans pushed early voting hard this year - something they dismissed in 2020.

Harris just isn’t a great politician. She got ahead using machine politics and that protected her for years and she wasn’t ready for a real fight for votes.

She was boring and had no rizz.

-lenient with illegal immigration
-tremendous impopularity of refugee cities whose budgets have been impacted by dealing with flood of migrants
-emphasis on wokeness, trans issues, DEI (all things that I care about but average person does not)
-perception that Trump will bring more blue collar jobs back home
-tremendous impopularity of Biden
-handling of Israel/Gaza war

+1. And Biden calling people “garbage” a week before the election didn’t help either (though I thought her response and distance to his comments was good).

Trump was calling Pierre ricans garbage a week before the election, called for the suppression of the free press, and for Liz Cheneys execution all in the past week. Not sure why Dems are judged on a double standard. The question isn’t why Kamala lost - it’s why did trump win despite all of his disqualifying factors including counted felonies, staging a coup, being twice impeached for quid pro quo and trying to obstruct democracy, his general vileness and all the other corruption of his first term.

And I honestly have no idea. I am completely puzzled. Trump is a disaster of a candidate. My best guess is that voters just didn’t “like” Kamala for the same reasons they didn’t “like” Hillary- deeply rooted misogyny. The war in Gaza also likely fractured democratic support, not unlike Bernie bros in 2016.

Hilary and Kamala are two deeply unlikable women. I held my nose and voted for both but neither one have a shred of likability.

Oh stop, both are good kind nice people. Far more likable than Trump.
But in America, women have to be Mother Teresa. Men just need a pulse

Nope. Tulsi is a veteran and men would vote for her over a male Dem candidate like Walz or Shapiro all day.

True.

I think that about covers it.

-referendum on Biden / DNC for forcing a candidate on us we didn’t want

-rebuke on some “far left” positions and policies like wokeness, trans, “free money” for unhoused / refugees

This +100.

However, Harris lost mostly because her campaign never understood what’s motivating most Americans at the polls — namely, jobs and inflation.

She ran a better campaign than Clinton and was royally screwed by Biden, who should have dropped out much earlier. But ultimately she made the same mistake as Clinton.

Stop. The same mistake as Clinton is not having a penis. It’s sexism, that’s it.

This is such a small-minded, anti-intellectual take. Stop reducing women to nothing but their uteruses.

Or women or democracy or loyalty to country or the LAW or facts and science.

As a molecular biologist/immunologist I can’t wait to see what our next health czar does with the next pandemic or biological terror event. OMFG

Morons have the right to vote. Target your campaign accordingly.

No, Kamala didn’t lose—it's that the far-left liberals, the Democratic machine, the media, big tech, and corrupt billionaires lost. More than losing, Trump won: he secured the popular vote, the electoral college, the House, and the Senate. It was a crushing victory. Now he need to clean de house and payback tine is here!

It's so refreshing finally to see people reckoning with what was really wrong. I had so much trouble contending with the young women in my work place yesterday saying how upset they will be if she loses because it means half of America hates women. It was so disappointing to realize how unthinking and lacking in critical thinking women who can vote only the issue of abortion are. In any event, I think Kamala and the dems were very disingenuous and, as always, hypocritical. If they really believed in a woman president, why did they pick a white man--who hunts and owns a gun-as her running mate. They should have picked a woman, or at the very least, a Black man, as her running mate. Otherwise, it was clear she was just a DEI hire who would be able to say, "look at how sexist half the country is" when she lost.

Because there's no way a lot of people were going to vote for a Black woman.
