APE screenshots: this is how they play to win

I'm blown away just how brazen this group is.

They are shameless. Look at them trying to defend themselves even when caught red handed. I hope someone let the school board know. At least the 4 non APE members. I bet Miranda doesn't care, she founded APE, she's part of this mess. Sure makes her look bad though.

APE has a lot of members with kids in private schools. I bet they all filled it out too.

Because non-APS parents can legitimately participate in the survey. Interested community members, future parents, past parents, etc.
And because not every APS parent is on ParentVue. Some 2-parent households just have one parent using it.
I also think it can be useful to have perspectives from parents who have taken their kids out of APS and put them into private - helps APS identify the "why" and how they are not measuring up.

No thanks I don't want the APEs who moved into private school influencing policy in my kid's school. Go email your private school and influence policies there. Stay out of my kid's school if you are not there.

Sorry dude, all Arlington residents pay Arlington taxes and therefore get a say. Don’t like it? Tough.

No the survey is just for CURRENT APS parents, students, and teachers. If you're taking it, you're cheating. But then that's APE's MO.

Let us all know the private school your kid goes to, and we'll be sure to email them our views. Private schools get govt funding too, so by your logic we all get a say in YOUR kid's school too! See how this works?

And people wonder why others don’t want to increase school spending.

Give us your money! But you get no say in policy.

So cry me a river when things aren’t funded. 😎

The Karen who is constantly cackling threats to report others to the school board (lol), and now "you're cheating!," is too much.

Simmer down now. I'm sure there's a store manager out there more worthy of your vitriol - save some of it for her.

It's the fact that an APE representative went to another community forum to solicit comment to influence APS' policy. And if anyone from Alexandria weighed in, shame on them.

What? They were asking how other neighboring school districts handle things. Is that really so nefarious? They even identified themselves as a member of APE.

I'm sure plenty of Arlington parents have opinions about AAP. Not sure that strange.

Since I have to spell it out with crayons:

She. solicited. Alexandria. parents. to. officially. provide. feedback. on. APS'. policy. while. it. was. open. for. public. comment. to. advance. APE's. policy. goals. Not. necessarily. the. community's. wishes.

It's unethical and slimy for outsiders to weigh in. I don't go to FCPS or LCPS' open policy comment section to weigh in on things that absolutely have no bearing on me or my children.

School board members and the system want to hear from their community only.

I can't help you if you don't see how wrong this is.

Huh? Where? I don’t see her asking this.

Read down to the end. She says, “… if anyone in this group would like to submit a positive comment, it would be appreciated”. She’s absolutely trying to get people in Alexandria to submit comments. Why else would you say that in a forum for people in Alexandria?

APE is our very own local Moms for Liberty.

So what? The bike lobby uses the same exact strategy to get bike lanes. Get people to submit surveys when they don’t live in the area and even get these people to show up at board meetings. Are they all MAGA as well? I think the pro pickleball crowd did the same.

Survey participation for any survey for any topic given by anyone will always have a fairly low participation rate. Alexandria City public schools can barely get parents in the City to respond to their surveys but somehow you think that these same parents are going to be motivated to fill out a survey for another school district???

Op has been sock puppetting like crazy in this thread with nonsense answers. Not to mention their continual posts about the “threat” APE poses. This was the best they could do to prove the “threat”. Seriously this is it. The random chance that some parent in Alexandria City which literally boarders Arl Co might submit a survey.

You see nothing wrong with someone being intellectually dishonest when they forward a survey to people not invested in our school system? Because I do.

The bike lobby and EHO lobby are wrong too. But we're talking about APE who just overplayed their hand.

You seem to lack an understanding of how your school gets paid for. I pay taxes that pay for your schools. I pay taxes that pay for our parks. I pay taxes that pay for government employees. Guess what? I can say anything I want to them.

You, on the other hand, with your phone loving nonsense do not get a say in my children’s private school decision to ban phones. That’s the way it works. Like it or not. Money talks.

Such a great illustration of the Republican/APE outlook on life.

I’m a democrat! And I send my kid to private school. And I voice my opinion on APS. Because I’m entitled to and I’m a taxpayer and…. Wait for it, my kid was in APS. And wait for it again, may return to APS. Guess what? Bunch of parents with kids who’ve completed APS still participate in APS policymaking. The idea that you could limit contribution to only current APS parents is so … incorrect and something the Board would not only not care about but would be against! It’s not just APS or families in APS with school age children or families who have ever been a part of APS. The school board is voted on by taxpayers. Can you imagine and school board member saying that their platform was: I’m going to limit listening on policy to just current APS families? Absolutely none of them say this. Why? Because you aren’t right about this. And so go ahead and send my response to the school board. It’s 100% valid. My vote is the same as yours. If you don’t like it, go to private. Like I did!

I’m fine with Arlington residents responding to the survey as long as they are honestly representing themselves.

I was responding to the ”I’m wealthy so I’m entitled to meddle with your kids’ lives without impacting my own; suck it, I’m wealthy” attitude.
