Question for someone who knows: is there anything voters can do to actually convince Biden to step aside?

Many of us have felt this way even before Joe selfishly decided to run again….and his being 82 on Election Day!

Take your condescension and shove it.

The primary results beg to differ. You shove it.

Most Democrats thought and think he is too old but that doesn't entitle Marianne Williamson or Dean Phillips to the nomination. The problem is nobody serious wanted to run against Biden. This is his fault for not showing down.

I don't think people understand how the major parties work. No serious contender would challenge a sitting president. They would have zero support from the party. It would be a death knell. The reason nobody mentioned as replacements ran against him is because they'd all love a shot at the presidency.

Exactly. This is all on Joe. He had to announce his retirement to give any other sane democrat a chance.

Joe knew this, and he chose to be selfish.

There is still time for Joe to do the right thing.

Trump’s doing the right thing, he’s going to be president again. democrats are the ones with a candidate that barely manages to fight off the grim reaper each day.

You so so sure the Grim Reaper won’t be coming for Donald soon? He recently lost a brother and a sister.

Trump is obese, eats nothing but junk food, and doesn't take care of himself, even when he "golfs" he needs a golf cart to haul his fat ass around and doesn't even carry his own golf bag.

Biden? How'd you find the internet?

He didn't have the mental capacity to choose. He ran because Dems wanted him to, as a way of shutting out Harris from the nomination. Now that the primaries are over, he is no longer useful to Dems and he's being told to step down to make way for their preferred nominee.

Harris? In an open primary with multiple candidates, she would have come in last place again. But really, the way it’s working out is that Obama and company get to choose the nominee rather than voters. Just like they wanted.

Most Americans, including myself, would be delighted if Obama was able to hand pick the nominee. He would select a normal candidate that would crush Trump and then all the normal/smart people would be happy.

Dems have just taken action to prevent both of those outcomes. Had Biden not contested the primaries, Biden would have been sidelined but not Harris. By getting Biden to stay in through the primaries and then force him to pull out, Dems were able to sideline both Biden and Harris. A successful, albeit ruthless, plan.

I'm amazed Trump hasn't had more health problems given his lifestyle. It almost makes me wonder why I try so hard to follow my doctor's advice to eat well and exercise regularly. Trump is doing none of that and he's lasted this long!

Biden’s health is a massive cover up. Anyone who believes what democrats are peddling needs to wake up. You are in an abusive relationship with your political party. They are manipulating you and gaslighting you while expecting financial support and your vote. Stand up for yourselves and demand change. geez.

So, what was the point of having a primary? What you describe would just be one more reason to look at our elections as being fraudulent.

Except that in ALL democratic systems, with or without primaries, you're fed a roster of candidates who are already chosen and vetted by Big Donors, PP. You get a very teeny-tiny piece of freedom to chose among preselected people. Just enough to call this system a democracy. But ake no mistake - the many are still ruled by the few, just like in the Middle Ages.

NP. He isn’t making the decisions. So, I don’t know how you persuade someone without capacity.

They could have voted for Jason Palmer or Dean Phillips in their primaries.

How many Democrats want to vote for a coronated candidate rather than an elected one?
Anonymous
I voted for Biden in 2020 before it was obvious that he was so disabled by cognitive decline.

I won’t vote for any candidate that is shoved down my throat by people who are more politically connected and powerful than I am.

OK but having voted for a preferred candidate from the preselected list, there needs to be a damn good reason why the winner of that vote isn’t the nominee. What, he’s senile? We knew that already!!

It wouldn’t be fraudulent if it was stolen right out from under our very eyes.

Those closest to Biden knew he was this sick. They hid it until now for a reason. I’ve had relatives with this same illness and they have likely known for years.

Kamala Harris is behind this. She knows she can’t win under her own name.

This isn’t a monarchy. I’m not voting for her and I’m an independent.
