Question for someone who knows: is there anything voters can do to actually convince Biden to step aside?

Many of us have felt this way even before Joe selfishly decided to run again….and his being 82 on Election Day!

Take your condescension and shove it.

Most Democrats thought and think he is too old but that doesn't entitle Marianne Williamson or Dean Phillips to the nomination. The problem is nobody serious wanted to run against Biden. This is his fault for not showing down.

I don't think people understand how the major parties work. No serious contender would challenge a sitting president. They would have zero support from the party. It would be a death knell. The reason nobody mentioned as replacements ran against him is because they'd all love a shot at the presidency.

Exactly. This is all on Joe. He had to announce his retirement to give any other sane democrat a chance.

Trump’s doing the right thing, he’s going to be president again. democrats are the ones with a candidate that barely manages to fight off the grim reaper each day.

You so so sure the Grim Reaper won’t be coming for Donald soon? He recently lost a brother and a sister.

Trump is obese, eats nothing but junk food, and doesn't take care of himself, even when he "golfs" he needs a golf cart to haul his fat ass around and doesn't even carry his own golf bag.

I'm amazed Trump hasn't had more health problems given his lifestyle. It almost makes me wonder why I try so hard to follow my doctor's advice to eat well and exercise regularly. Trump is doing none of that and he's lasted this long!

Or maybe you were lied about Trump's diet, just like you were lied about Joe's health?

Biden’s health is a massive cover up. Anyone who believes what democrats are peddling needs to wake up. You are in an abusive relationship with your political party. They are manipulating you and gaslighting you while expecting financial support and your vote. Stand up for yourselves and demand change. geez.

Responsive to the thread title, this piece in The Hill reads as pure desperation to me. "He's staying in, he's not going to withdraw! Really!"

Makes me think, with continued pressure from donors and from the public, he'll withdraw soon. With the holiday on Thursday, I'm not sure if it'll be Friday or another day. But I see it coming.

Here are the Bidens’ terms of surrender: a suitcase full of crack for Hunter, a professorship at Harvard for Doctor Jill, and chocolate pudding on Thursdays for Joe.

I wrote to the DNC to express my wishes for a replacement and that I wouldn't donate this cycle. I got an email welcoming me to the party. LOL. I know it's just standard, but I've been encouraging family and friends to send a message. You can write them here:

Biden’s family privately criticizes top advisers and pushes for their ouster at Camp David meeting

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/06/30/biden-camp-david-family-debate-00165970

Members of Joe Biden’s family privately trashed his top campaign advisers at Camp David this weekend, blaming them for the president’s flop in Thursday’s debate and urging Biden to fire or demote people in his political high command.

There is no immediate expectation that Biden will follow through on that advice, according to three people briefed on the family conversations but not directly involved. The three people were granted anonymity to discuss the matter.

Among the family’s complaints about the debate practice: that Biden was not prepared to pivot more to go on the attack; that he was bogged down too much on defending his record rather than outlining a vision for a second term; and that he was over-worked and not well-rested.
The blame was cast widely on staffers, including: Anita Dunn, the senior adviser who frequently has the president’s ear; her husband, Bob Bauer, the president’s attorney who played Trump in rehearsals at Camp David; and Ron Klain, the former chief of staff who ran point on the debate prep and previous cycles’ sessions.

These people said the Biden family wanted the president to continue in the campaign rather than end his career with a calamitous debate performance against Trump, whom they all loathe. First lady Jill Biden and his son Hunter Biden were the loudest voices urging the president to stay in the 2024 contest.

The Biden family also expected to huddle to discuss the best way to reassure Democrats that staying in the race is the right decision. The president himself was calling around to hear what his confidants thought. As Biden boarded Air Force One on Saturday, he chatted on the phone with Jon Meacham, according to photographs of the caller ID.

If any democrats still believe that their party is listening to them, it is time to wake up.

Just disgraceful that they're blaming his advisors for HIS OWN poor performance?? Good grief. They're ALL to blame - including his family - for allowing him to run.

No because we live in a Republic and Biden won his primary.

I said in another post they're not listening to me. But, at least I registered my dissent, which is important to me. That's all I can do. For years, I donated $1K-$5K a year to Dems, and haven't since they started funding right wing Republicans in 2022, which I also wrote to tell them.

They care about people in swing states and $1m donors. But, I like the idea of GenX mom takeover of the party after the election. Even if Biden wins, the party is sunk.

Or your IQ could be high enough to realize neither Trump or Biden has any business serving in the role of most powerful person in the world until 2029... oh, but no, let's talk about their diets. I just can't with you numb skulls.

Please stop with this nonsense. Biden was the only person on my primary ballot in 2020 and again in 2024 (and he ranked dead last for me). Millions of people in many states have no voice. Until there's a single primary day or ranked choice it's not the people's choice.

Someone posted on another thread that this issue was a republican plot to cause division within the democrat party. Look I get it, politics is rough. But the power brokers within the dem party caused this. The majority of democrats have supported Biden and defended him, they truly didn’t know his condition was so dire.

The people who caused this problem do not want to be held accountable.

Ol Crazy Biden talked about his weight. Not only completely morally bankrupt but also focuses on lame high school bully topics.

How I can get a high IQ if I am deplorable? I thought the high IQ belongs only to highly educated liberals.
