DC Soccer Club

We’re feeling a bit worried about the coming year. We’ve had a few players leave the group, and just found out that some of the players recruited from outside tryouts have now decided to cancel registration and leave before even joining. Any clubs still doing tryouts in the area?

I’ve noticed that several posts, particularly those asking questions or seeking clarification about ongoing issues at DCSC, have been deleted. This raises concern within the community, especially among families who are seeking transparency and honest communication from the club.

Rather than removing questions, it would be more constructive to address them openly. A clear and respectful dialogue can go a long way in restoring trust and ensuring members feel heard and valued.

Can someone from the DCSC please clarify how leadership plans to address the concerns being raised here?

Thank you.

Has DCSC had a town hall on this? I am getting all the emails about the fundraiser as an incoming ECNLR family but nothing about this issue

No….

They will not address it.

This is a legacy DCSC issue that spans decades since it was Stoddert.
They have had several lawsuits with coaches in the area. This one is public.

I haven’t seen many questions … just a lot accusations in an anonymous forum. If you have questions you should reach out directly to the club leaders.

I have a good idea of who you are, but mentioning your name would likely lead to this message being deleted, just like others that raised valid questions (not accusations) about what’s been happening at DCSC. It’s unfortunate that concerns relevant to the situation are being dismissed or hidden from the club’s members.

Is this club staying in the ECNL-RL or not? I have heard they aren't but then someone posed about their RL team for the coming year.

Yes. We are registered for an ECNL-RL team.

I’ve recently heard a number of negative comments about DC Soccer Club, and I’m trying to better understand what’s going on. I was under the impression that field access was the main issue, but it seems there may be deeper concerns related to the leadership.

This is incredibly unethical business practice. DC Soccer needs another full on rebrand with a brand new staff in place. Better yet, what is the board doing allowing all of this to go public?!?!

It’s been shared that Tom Walsh and several staff members are leaving DC Soccer Club following serious allegations involving the club’s CXO. From what I understand, the club chose to support the CXO and has not communicated this matter to DCSC families.

Situations like this raise important questions about transparency, accountability, and leadership. Families deserve clarity, especially when issues at the executive level impact the direction and culture of the club.

I hope the club will address this openly and provide members with the information needed to move forward with confidence and trust.

When does the club plan to communicate what is going on?

They probably won’t. There are SEVERAL coaches in this area that won’t even schedule games against DCSC or even scrimmages because of past litigation and settlements outside of court. People won’t talk about it but it hurts the kids, especially in DC.

This is just the next round of issues. I am not sure whether this is normal or not at other clubs.

Huh? I am not some diehard DCSC defender and my kids are in because it's convenient but what are you talking about? My kids have played against basically all the DC area teams.

But also as a lawyer, why would any opposing club care if the other club had its own litigation issues? You don't face any liability for playing games against them.

It's not too late to bid on the auction!!!

This thread is bonkers. So many vague accusations. Maybe try posting on social media if you are trying to get the club's attention? If not that, perhaps you could actually share the details here so that the rest of us know what you are talking about. FWIW, I am not part of the club but know a lot of families who've been quite happy with DCSC.
