DC Soccer Club

Nobody has equipped themselves professionally amidst all of this, and to allow all of this to go on so long and in such a messy manner is unforgivable. We’ve had leaked messages, screenshots of conversations, coaches and leadership openly trash talking each other, and parents being misled. Ultimately the responsibility lies with the Executive and Technical leadership at DCSC. We’re done with this bs.

That’s gross. I don’t blame you pp.

On the bright side, the DCSC 2014

On the bright side, the DCSC Blue team 2014 team made it to the finals at the Potomac Memorial Tournament. Not bad considering all the commotion going on...

Uhm...DCSC Blue 2014 won the Cannon Cup which another thread poster noted as "2nd or 3rd tier tourney that usually features VSA vs a bunch of other 2nd and 3rd tier clubs. As others noted the good teams are all playing elsewhere this weekend (or off)."

DCSC Red 2014 made it to the finals of 4th division of the Potomac Memorial Cup. Bethesda's 2nd Academy won the 1st division. That puts that into perspective.

Let this sink in. My son is on a higher team than all teams mentioned above and played almost all of the kids on these teams in some capacity as a DC kids. He got his start in DCSC and they let him get out of DC due to the way they run their program. Do you really think we want to drive to Alexandria, Springfield, Potomac, Gaithersburg or Baltimore during rush hour?

The current DCSC teams are not representative of the best talent DC has to offer and that is a shame.

Looking at the lawsuit documents…sexual harassment led to all this? Sounds like DC Soccer was trying to delay everything from being settled to prevent Brookland from forming. This is incredibly unethical business practice. DC Soccer needs another full on rebrand with a brand new staff in place. Better yet, what is the board doing allowing all of this to go public?!?!

Can you give us more details? I can't figure out the court case lookup.

The coach in the year below us at Liverpool in Rockville poached the whole team and is holding secret trainings with them when he was still supposed to be our coach too. There are three weeks left to the season/year and he is disappeared and only coaching those kids. It’s beyond strange.

What age/gender is this?

As a parent of a current team, I didn’t notice any of these issues. Yes field space could pose an issue, however they make do with what’s available. We’ve committed to staying albeit these things are going on behind the scenes.

+1, none of this back-office drama has been an issue for either of our two kids.

There is drama at every club. If you haven’t seen it you haven’t been around long enough.

Focus on your kid. Does he/she like the coach? Getting playing time? Developing at the appropriate level? If yes, congrats. If not, look around.
