Yea, the party supporting the pro - life platform is definitely not the one with the moral high ground.

There are tens of thousands of kids alive now because of the Dobbs decision and the following actions by pro-lifers.

And what kind of lives are they living? Many of them are living in poverty because you don't care about what happens to them once they're born.

Poor people in the US wear Air Jordans and are overweight. Pretty sure they will be ok.

What the f***k?

Better off dead?

Are you one of those right wing nut jobs who think “why oh why won’t you tolerate our intolerance” is some sort of witty and clever retort?

I am not. But I call intolerance and hate when I see it.

Yes, people hate it when people try to oppress others. You don’t?

People also hate it when babies who cannot defend themselves are being killed. Remember, that is how pro life community views abortions? Perhaps you can try to respect that and act civil, even if you disagree.

That is your religious view, not mine.

You can decide what you do with your own body and beliefs. You don’t control others.

That is beside the point. I was talking about hateful and intolerant comments in the school(not abortion) related thread.

^ I am not right wing btw. But flaming liberals like posters above, spitting out hate and fury towards someone they don’t know based on their assumptions.. They make normal people sick. And they make all democrats look very very bad.

Just imagine it was reverse and someone asked for a good school district for a liberal family with gay child. Would there be as much hate? Somewhere south, maybe. But do you want to be like those “right wing nuts”? You are no different.

1) They cannot afford private

2) They are not looking for half of the board to be conservative. Just mainly the political diversity, so that the kid can fit in and family values are respected. We are in MoCo and I did not recommend our school district, as even I feel like too much is forced on the kids and religion does not get a lot of respect.

What does “family values be respected” mean to them, exactly? In these parts, we respect that families look like many different things. If their view is anything other than that, I.e. if they think “family values” means a married man and woman of the same race with 2.4 kids and they are offended by anything else, including single parents, gay parents, divorced parents, mixed race couples, mixed race gay couples, kids raised by grandparents, kids raised by foster parents, kids living in homeless shelters … well, they probably won’t fit in anywhere in these parts.

No public school is going to “respect” their religion, whatever it is. There will be no deference to it. We don’t do that here in the United States of America.

Not sure what you mean by things “forced” on children. What are you talking about? Addition? Times tables? Instrumental music starting in 4th grade? Fingerprinting? What?

You aren’t making much sense.

This is OP. Family values like going to church or to march for life are important to their teen. They are looking for school where kids won’t think of him as a weirdo. Please don’t get worked up.

I have a teen at MCPS can tell you that someone like that would not fit in and would face a lot of hostility at our school.

Those aren't "family values", they're just priorities/interests. Those are that particular family's priorities and interests.

The kid has just been brainwashed by his parents “family values”. What right does a male teen have at a right to life March? Maybe if he’s enrolled at a regular public school, then he will see that you don’t have to just blindly follow whatever your church and parents tell you is right. There are nuances. Took me a while, but I finally wised up.

Wow. He had the first amendment right to freedom of speech of course.

And the rest of us have 1A rights to tell him he’s ignorant about female reproductive care and embracing misogyny.

If someone is actively trying to take away rights from others or force their will on others (with detrimental effects) I have a problem with that.

That is not at all equivalent to someone being gay.

That is exactly the point.

Someone who actively trying to take away the rights of half the population is likely to get feedback on their extremist views.

No one should tolerate that.

DP. No. It was a disgusting, ignorant comment.

The great irony here is you are describing indoctrination. I thought right wingers were deathly afraid of indoctrination? Or is that more projection?

Thank you! I was wondering about Oakton HS. Sounds like it could be good fit (OP)

We're at the same schools, and I think it is definitely trending more liberal with all the tech bros that have moved in the area. Anyone with kids 5 and under works in tech here.

My friend’s husband is in tech so it’s good to know. Liberal is not a problem as long as it is “love your neighbor” liberal and not “in your face” liberal. Appreciate your feedback! (OP)

Odd thing to say considering March for Life is very “in your face” conservative.

How is it different from abortion rights rallies? Or any other rally for that matter. You are not forced to watch it. It's a free country, after all.

Well the abortion rights rally is pro-freedom. The anti-abortion rally advocates the oppression of women.

In this country we value freedom. So that’s the difference. One is consistent with mainstream American values. The other is antisocial and vile. You have the right to say it but you can’t expect to be regarded neutrally after you do it.

Well, no, that isn’t a valid perspective worthy of equal consideration. No one is “killing babies.”

You’re comparing a gay student’s right to a safe school to a conservative parent’s desire for a school where their child can openly advocate for forced-birth without being challenged?

That’s your subjective interpretation. Have you heard of lipstick on a pig? Nice try though.

That is exactly what PP did.
