| Op, if you/they have time you can see past voting results by precinct to give an idea of what neighbors specifically are more democrat or conservative. I agree with the above broad suggestions if you don't have the time. |
I live here. Not really. Some kid prattling on about March to Life would be ostracized here. The area is certainly more conservative and there are pockets of MAGA traitors here but it’s a pretty purple area trending blue. |
The kid has just been brainwashed by his parents “family values”. What right does a male teen have at a right to life March? Maybe if he’s enrolled at a regular public school, then he will see that you don’t have to just blindly follow whatever your church and parents tell you is right. There are nuances. Took me a while, but I finally wised up. |

So I’m going to stick to answering your question as opposed to criticizing it.
Tell them to look at Western Prince William County, specifically Brentsville, Battlefield, Patriot and Gainesville high school districts. Or Eastern Fauquier - Kettle Run High School. |
| What is their budget? |
Finally the real question! |
Their budget is under 1M and husband will be working in Fairfax. Thanks so much for those with names and suggestions - it’s so helpful! And again, as I said before, they are not looking for conservative school. Just trying to avoid flaming political vibe |
A kid who defines themselves by march for life attendance needs to avoid even the middle of the road vibe if they don't want to stick out. They need to just go as far west as the husband is willing to commute if the plan is public school. |
| Oh, the irony in this thread. |
I am pretty sure their kid doesn’t not define himself by march for life. Just like many kids who wear rainbow during June do not define themselves as LGBT activists. That’s just something that they do and support. |
Working in Fairfax and with that budget definitely have them look at Burke and areas close to that. They can probably find something in Kings Park West and they’ll find a decent mix of people and viewpoints. |
Loudoun County might be the best bet. Honestly, Fairfax County for some reason has been painted by conservative media as being "flaming" left, but it really isn't. I live here. I'm squarely in the middle politically. Our neighbors are very conservative and they are still here. Maybe they feel like they've had to compromise their values to exist here, but I don't get that vibe at all. The schools are huge, so their kids will find their people because there are just so many different kinds of people. Sure you're going to run into someone who is wacko out in left field every now and then, but the goal isn't to live in a place where you will never have to tolerate someone different than you, right? I'm not sure I have any suggestions for a family who isn't willing to tolerate any diversity of thought. |
Appreciate your insight, as I was thinking logistically Fairfax county would be ideal for them. And selfishly, I don’t want us to be too far. (we are in Bethesda). What you described is exactly what they are looking for. An area where everyone is just tolerant of each other’s political/religious views. |
Great idea, I didn’t think of that. Thanks! |
Are there any other catholic high schools in the area, other than PVI? Also - thanks for the Robinson and Braddock suggestions. Are those magnet school? Could be a good fit for their DS. |
