The Dems are the ones forcing Feinstein to stay in office. That is inhumane on so many levels.
And, then we can talk about Fetterman and his cognitive issues....
Not to mention Biden himself.
So, you really don't have a lot of room to talk.

There is ZERO evidence that the GOP is "forcing" Mitch to remain.

F off with that crap. Feinstein needs to stay and do her duty. She knew what she was signing up for. The republicans have destroyed and debased the judiciary and the democrats are going to right the ship. If that means carting Diane in “weekend at Bernie’s”style, so be it.
Cry more about Fetterman. Get used to it, because he’s gonna be there awhile.

You are talking about an elderly, frail and sick woman. She owes you nothing. WTF is wrong with people?!

I’ll tell you what’s wrong with me, these old aholes loved the money and power and they couldn’t be persuaded to do the right thing. Neither one of them had seats that were in danger. They could have graciously stepped aside. So no, I don’t give a rat’s ass about her dignity or discomfort. Their generation has just about wrecked this democracy. She needs to get her boney ass up there and vote a she’s told.
Mitch can honestly drop dead. The world would be better for it, and the only thing I’ll be sad about, is that it didn’t happen 15 years ago.

That's actually a fair point. She was 85 when she last won election, which would put her at 91 when her term finishes out. She needs to deal with the consequences.

And people wonder how there are so many disaffected voters in this country disillusioned with both parties.

And they are worth millions for their “service”.
I don’t want to hear about “elder abuse” re: these geezers. They did this to themselves, but they did it to us too. 330 million people are victims of their ego, greed, and hubris.

He's holding on until 2024 to fulfill his promise of blocking another Democrat Supreme Court nominee.

Yes. It is.

100%

I can only imagine that these discussions are going on behind the scenes.

+1. This guy and a bunch of other geezers get to decide if your government stays open or not come October. It's pathetic.

+2 not a right vs left issue. We can all agree to this.

It really is remarkable. It just goes to show what a drug power is. It's sick.
That was almost comical at the end of the clip where the aide said what's your next question, "and speak up," like that was the problem. Watching his aides scramble to cover for him is sick. Him standing up there is sick. The power hoarding is sick. Our whole system is sick where this is the result.

The system is sick indeed. It's very disturbing to see Republicans defend the idea of him holding such power at his age while at the same time objecting to Biden remaining in power for the same reason and equally disturbing to hear Democrats acknowledging McConnell's need to step down while continuing to support the idea of Biden serving a second term. I don't get it. These are human beings going through the same things all people eventually go through in their 70s or 80s. You'd think at some point people could put common sense and decency ahead of political bias.

The leader of the GOP is Trump, and Trump doesn’t like Mitch.

Not in the Senate. The Republican Senate didn’t follow Trump even when he was President. They voted for tax cuts and judges, the two things they wanted, and stonewalled him on everything else.

Agreed, but the Republican part of the Senate has gotten much Trumpier. Who do you think is in charge besides Mitch?

Are we to believe that Mitch only freezes at press conferences? How often is he doing this in staff meetings, private discussions, etc and we are not told?

This is not a man who has many people who love him which is no surprise.

Yeah it seems unlikely that it only happened twice, and both those times happened to be during press gaggles

I don’t think anyone is suggesting it’s just these two events. It’s just shocking that the GOP is hauling out of mothballs and into the drawing room a man whose health is so badly compromised that he has had not one but two public health events of the aging/neurological variety. This is probably happening a few times a day, if not more and he’s probably being trotted out on “good” days. He’s run out of good days.

I truly hope we don’t have to watch him die of a stroke in front of the camera. God knows his staff will just carry him out and wink at the assembled reporters like this deranged staffer did.
