They got their jobs through being chummy with the top folk, not much else. And they are not held accountable for much. It is a sweet gig.

That isn’t true. Most of the current IS are former DCPS principals. They worked hard for their positions.

Katie Larkin- former principal of HD Cooke ES, former AP at Hearst, former resident principal at Key and Kelly Miller MS

Mary Ann Stinson- former principal of Truesdell ES

Eric Bethel- former principal of Turner ES and former teacher at Marie Reed ES

I don't think this proves the point you were thinking. Many principals are picked bc of their connections to central (Larkin is notorious for being a Central bot).

Bethel is my IS and does a great job, but that's such a rarity amongst the IS cohort I've had over the last 12 years

Bethel is great. He’s our IS as well.

He’s mine but never really thought he was that great, though also not bad. I just don’t have specifics to form an opinion (I know most people in my building complain they never get feedback from him or his entourage when they visit).

The next step will be with Eaton's parents, putting together all the grievances that already exist against the ap and removing her. There are many of us who have problems with the ap, and they are not simple problems or gossip. I hope that the teachers also support us, since the investigators of the central office are very bureaucratic

The 1-3 parents who have some personal beef with the AP need to find a new forum. Distracting from a serious matter related to a leader’s abusive behaviors and ethical and policy violations towards teachers and students is NOT the same as your family issues with AP. Please stop making it about yourself and try to have some empathy for the community at large. Highly doubt the teachers will have any opinion on AP who has been fair and reasonable.

Many families have left Eaton in the past year and prior years because of the psychological abuse by the assistant principal.
She has multiple grievances with dcps against her and dcps have not taken any action.
It really is something that we, the parents have to unite and ask all of us that this woman be prosecuted.
It's not from now, it's from a long time ago.

Sounds like a YOU problem. Making false claims on an anonymous forum isn’t how to get anything done. Maybe take some time away from your cushy NW pool time and get your facts organized into some real advocacy instead of flinging mud with zero success. If you’re an Eaton parent, you should be ashamed you’re not focused on supporting teachers in efforts to immediately get rid of Eskay. He’s still at the school people!

I don't think it's just only one person problem. Dance has denied many children iep services, lost documentation, and treats parents very poorly when they insist that children need to have evaluations. She has also treated and threatened teachers who have not been or disagree with her.
They have grievances against her in the dcps but the system is so bureaucratic that they don't even tell what steps to take towards her.
What parents want and they are asking that after Eskay is removed from Eaton the next step is ap.Dance.
It's not just Eskay that's the problem at Eaton.
Is not a problem from last year only.

My question is what changed that scared the teachers from March to not being scared in June.

I think it’s weird that the letter wasn’t written until after the Hardy petition was successful.

Impact scores would have already been submitted so the principal would not be able to retaliate against the teachers by giving them low scores and putting their jobs in jeopardy.

I can't understand why people are getting upset when some parents are talking about the problems they have had at Eaton.
They are taking advantage of counting because they feel that they have no solution. And it's everyone's problem, because tomorrow it could be your child.
Just as the teachers sought our help because they couldn't find any other help, these parents are doing the same.
Do not forget that one rotten apple rots the rest.
At Eaton there is a very big problem and the pot has already been uncovered.

I can't believe he's still there.

But the first problem hasn't actually been solved yet. So the only thing that you are doing is distracting from the problem that the teachers raised by bringing up a different one.

How?
Isn't dcps required to do something?
Who would want to stay in that situation? Should't dcps at least move him to anither school?

He never should have been hired in the first place. He’s been investigated before and put on leave at a previous school district for several issues.

NP. How do you know they are "false"? I don't think that word means what you think it means. Although the shot at pool time does wonders to restore your credibility.

Any resolution, yet?

I can't see him returning. What is easier to replace: a principal or 40 staff members?

I do not think there have been any updates.. I have heard he continues to report to work with no oversight... pretty concerning stuff given the lack of swift action from DCPS.

I’m so happy he gets to remain at Eaton. Everyone is so quick to call people racists or misogynists these days. The people constantly complaining about racism, homophobia, and misogyny need to be silenced. These things do not exist in modern day America.
