DC Public and Public Charter Schools
Dang. Good for the staff for standing up to that. |
I genuinely wonder if he is having some sort of mental health crisis. His background is all in SPED. That's like specifically his passion and the area that most of his previous work was in. I 100% do not believe he thinks it is a waste of manpower to educate children with special needs. I don't think the teachers are lying, obviously, but this is like a 180 from Payne. It's just... total cognitive dissonance. |
| Yes - this is what doesn't make sense. His background is in SPED. I am just genuniely confused! |
The letter seems pretty well documented with dates he said certain things. It is so incredibly unprofessional, it’s one thing for him to unload on his spouse and talk this way, another for him to talk about students and staff like that at school. We stand behind the teachers but I’m very sad about the situation, he seemed nice. |

Stating that students who were low in reading and math should be doing nothing else but practicing math or how to read. They shouldn't be allowed in specials or allowed to go to recess. | Didn’t his principal announcement have some sketchy wording? I remember it being brought up on DCUM at the time |
| It’s kind of weird that he managed to go to William and Mary for undergraduate but then went to UDC for law school. |
I mean ... plenty of old school special ed teachers are horrible. |
Oh. My. God. I was wondering how they got 100% of any group to support anything. Now I understand. There is no way the inquiry and repercussions should end with the principal. The Instructional Superintendent needs to be reprimanded or fired. As does anyone else in Central who knew or should have known of the scale of the problem. Wow... |
| honestly, diagnosed mental or brain disorder? |

So... he was targeting certain folks and interviewing for their positions before they'd even resigned? Shady AF. Let me take a wild guess - those positions are currently held by women/women of color.
His disgusting statements of the children ALONE should be enough to ensure that he never works in a school setting ever again. The teachers have my full support. |
He isn't a member of any bar in DMV, probably never passed. I'd leave that whole part out of my resume if I were him.

A previous pp asked if DCPS was having ‘principal crisis’. Nope.
Every (disgusting) thing I read in that letter has happened at each school I worked at in DCPS. + more things you wouldn’t believe. What’s happening (hopefully!) now is that treachery aren’t cowering in the corner and staying quiet in the hopes of getting an IMPACT bonus. These principals in DCPS wouldn’t be hired anywhere else. |
| They change principle every year |
