Europeans have always been more fashionable. High fashion is much more common throughout Europe, then most of the United States. I would imagine that at some of the elite private schools throughout Europe you’re seeing purses, jewelry, etc. that are breathtaking.

The green Chanel blazer above is flawless. As is the rest of her outfit..

None of these women look elite or highly educated to me. Fashionable women do not wear name brands everywhere and those Prada clunky loafers with the name on them would not be considered fashionable. I like the blazer though.

Educated women are not a homogeneous bunch. I work at Johns Hopkins hospital and our female physicians span the entire spectrum of fashion - horrible outlet mall crap to incredibly high fashion. Their jewelry does too - some wear none and some have 6 carat solitaires.

Many of the moms who dress like this aren't new money but just have so f-ing much now its like brainless how they spend money and they all like nice things. These women are married to men who make millions per year, investing part of it and then making a ton of those investments. For some they cant even spend all that they have, it isn't really "keeping up with the jones." It's more like I saw Jane had this great necklace/bag etc. and I want it too and I can have it since I have a ton of disposable money. I find the women who actually work and make big incomes (over 500k per year) are somewhat disheveled, don't care and are aspie or are dressing just as nicely... the women who make money arent at pick up to see.

Disagree. There is a look and you can spot it instantly. It screams bad taste and flashy. It’s hard to explain but you can tell by looking. There is a vibe more fashionable women have and it can wreak of money but it doesn’t involve wearing all of this stuff to pick up. It is couture clothing, expensive but simple jewelry, nice purse and shoes but no labels showing. You would recognize the items if you shop at those places but they are subtle. That is how the truly wealthy and fashionable dress.

It’s funny because many people are talking about how expensive flashy purses are somehow inappropriate for drop off or pick ups however, most extremely expensive purses are not “flashy “and Hermes purses are not even obvious in anyway. I’m a Van Cleef gal, that’s stone is Chalecedony. Yes van cleef is pricey for not necessarily diamonds guess one is paying for workmanship and style? I’ve slowed down in my van cleef collecting. Fun to wear, but I usually only wear one piece at a time. Sometimes I layer my motif necklaces.

I have none of these items because I don't have the budget for it, and I love when people wear them. I find the Van Cleef pieces to be pretty, and clearly, many others are drawn to them as well. Count me a sheeple, because I would wear the pieces if I could afford them. Why do you care how others choose to spend their money? If you think they are ugly and boring, you don't have to wear them. I will never understand why so many people get off on yucking someone else's yum. Find something else to get worked up about.
