Will Kopelman, WASPy? Okay. Do you know what WASP is?

Um, yes, I do. And despite being of Jewish decent, the groom is clearly going for that New England Anglo look, with the hair, the slight tan, and the J. crew suit, and nary a kippah or chuppah ANYWHERE nor to mention the aesthetic of the wedding. An observation, not an insult.

- A Jew

Maybe they're not observant Jews? Is that allowed?

- another Jew

Sure, of course. But the observation up thread that it’s a WASP-y aesthetic has been met with people calling out that the groom and family is Jewish and that poster is “stupid.” The groom and family are 100% downplaying any Jewish or religious roots in favor of a more New England WASP vibe. That’s fine, I’m a non practicing Jew too. But it doesn’t negate the observation.

His family is very religious and this is a big reason why the marriage with Drew didn't work out, as she didn't convert. The girls are raised Jewish and traditional. Allie's mom is Jewish of Russian descent. Maybe this is the wedding that she wanted.

Well, it's obvious she didn't want a Jewish wedding! There's not a single photo of a chuppah, no mention of a rabbi, no mention at all of any ritual that you'd find in a Jewish wedding. If the groom is so religious, then it's amazing that there was no desire on the bride's part to honor that important tradition. I think that conspicuous, conscious decision to not display any bit of Judiasm in the wedding publicity is, well, very telling...

Of course you do. They're probably all closeted anti-Semites. There's really no other explanation.

How do you now it wasn't HIS CHOICE? I have a few Jewish friends that married Christians that had a Christian wedding and they have a Christmas tree and do more things with the Christian side of the family than the Jewish.

Some Jews, just like Catholics and Protestants are lapse ones and it isn't a huge part of their life even if they were raised a certain way as a child. And, you didn't see an entire video of the ceremony and reception so you have no idea if any elements and other traditions were incorporated.

+1
And some couples, like my parents (one Jewish, one Christian) decided to raise their kids as Christians. Just as one can convert to Judaism, it's also possible to convert to Christianity. You don't even have to convert. You can live and raise your kids as you see fit. I see nothing unusual at all in their decision not to incorporate Jewish elements of the ceremony. That's their CHOICE. And, as you say, we have no idea what went on at the reception. Perhaps they danced the Horah, perhaps not.

I also just want to give her a sandwich, yes she’s skinny but I’m not getting woman vibes from her, no softness, no breast, no butt, large misshapen head. Without all of the airbrushing and makeup artistry…. I suspect she more resembles Skelator than svelte leggy beauty.

Seriously some of you are so self loathing… it leaps off of the page here. Only a trans teenager or pre pubescent girl could possibly meet the ideal some of you strive for. It’s not realistic for most young women. Otherwise you are starving yourself, dying or lightening things or lopping off body parts. So very unhealthy.

Having small breasts and butt DOES NOT mean someone is not feminine. She looks more feminine to me than those grotesque women with implants and good for her for not getting a boob job at her net worth. Kerri Walsh Jennings is an A cup at best, has no fat on her butt and she breastfed her 3 kids successfully. We need to get away from the myth that feminine means looking like an inflatable sex doll.

Thank you. So sick of hearing this garbage about thin women not being "real women." People cannot help their genetics - as I'm sure some of the overweight posters here would agree.

If you look at movie stars from the 30's, 40's and 50's most of them had Allie's type of figure--B cup or maybe a bit smaller. You did not
have the extreme breast augmentation that is performed now. As a small chested woman I think woman with small busts age more youthfully.
My large busted friends just look extremely matronly at age 45 and older. Allie's Mom is pictured in one of the images and she is very attractive and natural looking.

Agree. I have always had small breasts and when I was a teen, I remember telling my mom one day I would get implants. She simply said that large breasts (on me) would make me look a lot heavier than I am. Now that I'm a middle-aged woman, I'm so grateful she said that. She was exactly right. I'm thankful for my small bust now.

Marina Rust is the best.

And here's a picture from Marina Rust's wedding. So white! So classic! How dare she!

Crickets.

This looks like the same wedding.

That's the point! The PPs were crowing about how Marina Rust was so "much better" than this bride - and yet their weddings were exactly the same. So idiotic.

It’s not the pictures. It’s the writing.

Marina Rust us the model Allie Michler is trying to emulate. At least she has good taste!

She wasn't "emulating" anyone in particular. It was just a classic wedding, like many others. She has good taste.

Not a spectacular wedding at all. Pretty boring and bland.

Ah, there you are. The expected race-baiter, right on time. Get a life.

Dp - you’re joking, right? There were 60+ pictures and barely a brunette, let alone a person of any color other than lily white.

And this is a problem for you why, exactly? Do you typically critique wedding photos from say, black families, and become outraged that there are few or no white faces? You sound like an absolute idiot. Your fixation on race is why people can't stand you.

NP but actually the people responding "should they hire some blacks? do you critique the blacks??" are the ones who sound like absolute idiots. There is not a single person of color in any picture, and there are entirely too many pictures to begin with. Not a solitary Asian guest, Latino, Native, Black, nada. If you make it to the age of 40 without a single friend who doesn't look like they could be your cousin, it's noteworthy and definitely a conscious choice. It stands out and I can't help but wonder if it's intentional to complement their "Old World Nantucket" aesthetic.

You're one of *those* people, right? The type who looks for offence where there is none. You must be exhausting to be around, let alone live with.

I'm a person who was raised in the United States of America in the late twentieth century and as a result knows people of many races. Sorry if that means you need a nap.

You're a virtue signaling ninny and no one - NO ONE - cares how many people of different races you know. But no doubt your hobby is listing them all on a spreadsheet and patting yourself on the back. Enjoy!

Diversity certainly is a virtue, but embracing it is not a signal. It's interesting how infuriated you are by the concept though. Economic anxiety strikes again.

OTC, it is you who is infuriated by the idea white people. How upsetting!

You've called everyone you've responded to on this thread names and resorted to personal attacks in each and every response. It's a little late to aim for "unbothered" at this point. But I guess if you believe in "race baiting" you must be easily baited.

Okay so I've gotten to page 9 or something, haven't gotten through everything, but I'm that PP who is apparently being called a race-baiter. That is just weird.
I never said they're racist. I never said they need to "hire a bunch of Blacks." Gosh, these responses are so weird.
I said I was surprised.
Surprised because I am 33 years old, not super progressive, grew up in the Midwest, but yeah, for many years now I have had the understanding that as a white person I would definitely be better off getting to know and be friends with Black people and people of other races/cultures. Yes, it actually takes some effort. I don't like to admit that. I realized at one point that my family grew up not talking about race, as if talking about it meant you're dividing people or being somehow racist.
Yes, it is surprising to me that in 2022, a 33 yo woman and 43 yo man in the USA have a large luxurious wedding with no guests from other races.
I can't read into their intent, or oversight, or whatever, but yes I find it odd and surprising, and I would probably find it an awkward aspect if I were to attend a wedding like this.
Not sure if I should even share this detail but I'm married to a black man. We have 3 beautiful biracial children. So yes I think about these kinds of things.
And yes I think everyone would benefit from having a diverse social circle. It may take effort. But it's worth it.

I still can’t get over how much Will looks like he could be her father rather than her husband. He looks so old! And that suit - the color and fit were just hideous!

So beautiful

Why the hat? Why the black sandals? I thought that first picture was of younger sister or something. It's almost like a Mennonite aesthetic. Like, how to make a beautiful, fit/skinny 33 yo woman look like a shapeless, style-less person vaguely somewhere between 12 and 20 years old? Put on a funny straw hat, shapeless dress and black sandals. Kind of a confusing choice for a lunch before your wedding.

This is so stupid. Plenty of big chested woman age well, just like plenty of small chested women. And of course there are some big chested women who age horribly, just like small chested. You know what’s really funny, the women who swear they look great for their age but others don’t see it. Looking in the mirror ppl see what they want. You’re way more attractive than you think.

This +100. She's a beautiful woman but the dress was overkill for that setting and it clashed with the low key vibe of the groom's clothes.
