I also just want to give her a sandwich, yes she’s skinny but I’m not getting woman vibes from her, no softness, no breast, no butt, large misshapen head. Without all of the airbrushing and makeup artistry…. I suspect she more resembles Skelator than svelte leggy beauty.

Seriously some of you are so self loathing… it leaps off of the page here. Only a trans teenager or pre pubescent girl could possibly meet the ideal some of you strive for. It’s not realistic for most young women. Otherwise you are starving yourself, dying or lightening things or lopping off body parts. So very unhealthy.

Having small breasts and butt DOES NOT mean someone is not feminine. She looks more feminine to me than those grotesque women with implants and good for her for not getting a boob job at her net worth. Kerri Walsh Jennings is an A cup at best, has no fat on her butt and she breastfed her 3 kids successfully. We need to get away from the myth that feminine means looking like an inflatable sex doll.

Thank you. So sick of hearing this garbage about thin women not being "real women." People cannot help their genetics - as I'm sure some of the overweight posters here would agree.

If you look at movie stars from the 30's, 40's and 50's most of them had Allie's type of figure--B cup or maybe a bit smaller. You did not
have the extreme breast augmentation that is performed now. As a small chested woman I think woman with small busts age more youthfully.
My large busted friends just look extremely matronly at age 45 and older. Allie's Mom is pictured in one of the images and she is very attractive and natural looking.

"pictured in one of the images" is this Google translate?

Yes. Russian bot alert.

so much green and white... not one hint of any other color. It's not a flattering look or elegant. It's plain.

The cake with the blah vine on it was so sad.

So beautiful

Why the hat? Why the black sandals? I thought that first picture was of younger sister or something. It's almost like a Mennonite aesthetic. Like, how to make a beautiful, fit/skinny 33 yo woman look like a shapeless, style-less person vaguely somewhere between 12 and 20 years old? Put on a funny straw hat, shapeless dress and black sandals. Kind of a confusing choice for a lunch before your wedding.

Because she liked it? I find it surprising and odd that you are so critical of this wedding. Why? Why do you feel it necessary to dump on a perfect stranger's wedding day? I honestly can't imagine picking apart someone the way you have. What do you get out of it?

The hat was so bad. Like did actual fun happen at this wedding or was it all contrived posing and outfit changes for this spread?

The hat + dress were terrible + did not match. She needs a new stylist. She would look gorgeous in pastels, with slightly curled hair, softer colors for makeup + nicer accessories. She can certainly afford it!

I loved it! Simple and elegant. Different strokes.

Wut? That PP is simply saying Allie's mom is pictured in one of the images in the linked Vogue spread. How is this hard to understand?

Anonymous wrote:I just wasted 4 minutes looking through that slideshow and reading the cringey captions. That was so bland. And, do they really have no Black friends or any POC to invite to their wedding? I mean, do they not even try to have some diverse friends? I just find it surprising.
Not a spectacular wedding at all. Pretty boring and bland.

Ah, there you are. The expected race-baiter, right on time. Get a life.

Dp - you’re joking, right? There were 60+ pictures and barely a brunette, let alone a person of any color other than lily white.

And this is a problem for you why, exactly? Do you typically critique wedding photos from say, black families, and become outraged that there are few or no white faces? You sound like an absolute idiot. Your fixation on race is why people can't stand you.

NP but actually the people responding "should they hire some blacks? do you critique the blacks??" are the ones who sound like absolute idiots. There is not a single person of color in any picture, and there are entirely too many pictures to begin with. Not a solitary Asian guest, Latino, Native, Black, nada. If you make it to the age of 40 without a single friend who doesn't look like they could be your cousin, it's noteworthy and definitely a conscious choice. It stands out and I can't help but wonder if it's intentional to complement their "Old World Nantucket" aesthetic.

You're one of *those* people, right? The type who looks for offence where there is none. You must be exhausting to be around, let alone live with.

I'm a person who was raised in the United States of America in the late twentieth century and as a result knows people of many races. Sorry if that means you need a nap.

You're a virtue signaling ninny and no one - NO ONE - cares how many people of different races you know. But no doubt your hobby is listing them all on a spreadsheet and patting yourself on the back. Enjoy!

Diversity certainly is a virtue, but embracing it is not a signal. It's interesting how infuriated you are by the concept though. Economic anxiety strikes again.

OTC, it is you who is infuriated by the idea white people. How upsetting!

You've called everyone you've responded to on this thread names and resorted to personal attacks in each and every response. It's a little late to aim for "unbothered" at this point. But I guess if you believe in "race baiting" you must be easily baited.

Okay so I've gotten to page 9 or something, haven't gotten through everything, but I'm that PP who is apparently being called a race-baiter. That is just weird.
I never said they're racist. I never said they need to "hire a bunch of Blacks." Gosh, these responses are so weird.
I said I was surprised.
Surprised because I am 33 years old, not super progressive, grew up in the Midwest, but yeah, for many years now I have had the understanding that as a white person I would definitely be better off getting to know and be friends with Black people and people of other races/cultures. Yes, it actually takes some effort. I don't like to admit that. I realized at one point that my family grew up not talking about race, as if talking about it meant you're dividing people or being somehow racist.
Yes, it is surprising to me that in 2022, a 33 yo woman and 43 yo man in the USA have a large luxurious wedding with no guests from other races.
I can't read into their intent, or oversight, or whatever, but yes I find it odd and surprising, and I would probably find it an awkward aspect if I were to attend a wedding like this.
Not sure if I should even share this detail but I'm married to a black man. We have 3 beautiful biracial children. So yes I think about these kinds of things.
And yes I think everyone would benefit from having a diverse social circle. It may take effort. But it's worth it.

Of course you think about this. You're married to a black man and have biracial children. Obviously your in-laws are black as well, so you know a lot of black people. Congrats? That doesn't make you somehow more virtuous, yet it certainly sounds like you consider yourself to be. You're obviously hyper-attuned to race due to your marriage and kids. Most of us aren't. We don't see everything through the racial lens you clearly do.

It's not about being "hyper-attuned to race", it's realizing that, unless you consciously decided to only befriend white people, it would basically be impossible to live in the places they've lived in, and attend the schools they attended, and NOT have friends who are POC. It's not like these people grew up in some entirely white small town in Wyoming. They're from Manhattan, FFS. They went to the sort of private schools that are intentionally very diverse. It's strange, and statistically unlikely that they wouldn't have made any non-white friends, ever, unless that was their choice.

Yes, that is basically what I was getting at. To be over 3 or 4 decades old and have lived in diverse cities, worked in diverse industries (she's with Vogue, right?), and literally have no POC at your wedding is surprising and honestly a bit odd.

To the PP: not that I should have to explain myself, but no, my in-laws are not black. My DH was an orphan and some white families from the South are the closest thing to real family for him! Lol! I am pretty sure I have more Black friends than he does! Lol!

The same reason why OP wanted to brag about and for some reason promote this wedding. If one can rave about it, one can also say what they don’t like about it.

No, the thread was revived recently. But now the original post that revived it was removed. I added it after it was revived.

Are you kidding? I think she's gorgeous. Agree on the new husband - his face is bloated and sunburned. He will not age well. I can just see it.

DP, but she's got the strangest face. I guess because her face is so wide, she looks really bad head-on, but surprisingly nice in profile or with her head turned sharply. The best picture of her by far is the first one, where her head is cranked around almost to Exorcist levels. They tell you to learn your angles but for most of us, if the best one is head turned 120* to the right we're never going to find out.

You're right. She knows her angles. And the new husband was left out of 90% of the pictures of the reason - it takes work to make him look good.

I think she's very pretty - but most of the photos of her are so obviously airbrushed it's hard to be sure.

The younger daughter of Kopelman and Barrymore REALLY resembles Drew Barrymore.

Drew’s daughter’s got into Brearley because they’re Ari Kopelman’s granddaughters.
