This wedding is beautiful. Will kopelman (Drew's ex) and Allie Micheler

Different people find different things attractive! In 2022, please don't be upset that some people are not accepting of a certain aesthetic being crammed down their throat as "ideal". It doesn't make them jealous or even critical to say that this whole thing, is not their thing. There are even (gasp!) plenty of rich white blond women who would vomit at this aesthetic as well.

+1,000 And PP, she doesn’t have thick hair at all. Her hair is very thin.

I thought Jill Kargman's whole persona was based on being relatively "middle class" in a sea of wealth. She writes about how she lives in kind of a dingy neighborhood, doesn't "summer" or fly by private jet etc--it's her whole thing. Yet her dad heads Chanel? I am confused.

Headed, past tense but moreso, I think that's Jill's style, more low key, but I think she absolutely travels in those circles. That's why she contrasts herself. I saw a blurb recently where she talked about her gallery wall in her apt and how she grew to treasure it, and she noted some of the art cost almost nothing, it was about the meaning it held, etc. That's how she thinks or how she wants us to think she thinks...i think she is sincere, maybe a little adhd? and she has had enormous privilege that allows for a very laid back attitude about it. Her mom coco koppelman is on instagram, she seems very family oriented.

I don't think it's that she's comparatively "middle class" (she is definitely loaded) more that she doesn't play a game of one-upmanship that runs rampant in those circles. She's secure in her wealth and also doesn't think it should define her, like "rich" is not a personality trait. She's not someone who would be doing the real-life equivalent of posting here "what HHI to own a private jet? What bakery do the rich use on the UES? Ugh, did you see that sweater? Last season! Should be in the trash." She's no particularly flashy or ostentatious, and unlike some other people in her orbit seems to still be able to take pleasure in some simple or meaningful things, like the photo wall mentioned above or the flowers she buys at the bodega.

It's her shtick. Makes her relatable to be the black sheep / audience stand in

His hair looks good, her outfits are cute, flower girl dresses are sweet …. Really have to dig for something to not like here. Haters are gonna hate, I guess.

Will Kopelman, WASPy? Okay. Do you know what WASP is?

Um, yes, I do. And despite being of Jewish decent, the groom is clearly going for that New England Anglo look, with the hair, the slight tan, and the J. crew suit, and nary a kippah or chuppah ANYWHERE nor to mention the aesthetic of the wedding. An observation, not an insult.

- A Jew

Maybe they're not observant Jews? Is that allowed?

- another Jew

Sure, of course. But the observation up thread that it’s a WASP-y aesthetic has been met with people calling out that the groom and family is Jewish and that poster is “stupid.” The groom and family are 100% downplaying any Jewish or religious roots in favor of a more New England WASP vibe. That’s fine, I’m a non practicing Jew too. But it doesn’t negate the observation.

This is truly one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. If someone is a non-observant Jew, and grows up spending summers in Nantucket, then that's their vibe. Period. Sounds like you want the men to wear kippahs, a chuppah to be used, and the horah to be danced - simply because the groom and his family are ethnically Jewish? Sorry, no. I'm ethnically Jewish but have never even been inside a synagogue. There were no traces of Judaism at my wedding because I don't identify with the faith. Stop trying to dictate other people's personal preferences.

I also just want to give her a sandwich, yes she’s skinny but I’m not getting woman vibes from her, no softness, no breast, no butt, large misshapen head. Without all of the airbrushing and makeup artistry…. I suspect she more resembles Skelator than svelte leggy beauty.

Seriously some of you are so self loathing… it leaps off of the page here. Only a trans teenager or pre pubescent girl could possibly meet the ideal some of you strive for. It’s not realistic for most young women. Otherwise you are starving yourself, dying or lightening things or lopping off body parts. So very unhealthy.

Exactly what I thought as I read your post. Who on earth would critique another person in this way? A complete strange, someone you know nothing about, who is incredibly happy on her big day. I can't even imagine how unhappy and insecure you must be to say such rude things about another woman. Wow.

Marina Rust is the best.

And here's a picture from Marina Rust's wedding. So white! So classic! How dare she!

Crickets.

This looks like the same wedding.

That's the point! The PPs were crowing about how Marina Rust was so "much better" than this bride - and yet their weddings were exactly the same. So idiotic.

Having small breasts and butt DOES NOT mean someone is not feminine. She looks more feminine to me than those grotesque women with implants and good for her for not getting a boob job at her net worth. Kerri Walsh Jennings is an A cup at best, has no fat on her butt and she breastfed her 3 kids successfully. We need to get away from the myth that feminine means looking like an inflatable sex doll.

Thank you. So sick of hearing this garbage about thin women not being "real women." People cannot help their genetics - as I'm sure some of the overweight posters here would agree.

I agree. I can't believe people are tearing apart her appearance and face/body. These same people are horrified about fat and body shaming and images young girls see.

Pathetic.

There's space between "tearing apart her appearance" and "she is the ideal white beauty with a gorgeous face and if you disagree you're jealous". She's not disfigured but she's not exceptional either. She's just . . . thin and blonde and connected.

And by all accounts, included by her husband's ex-wife, she is an incredibly warm, loving and kind person. It's just ridiculous anonymous keyboard warriors want to belittle and attack people's appearance constantly. And we wonder why there is a mental health crisis in this country.

Totally agree. And if this woman was black, not one of these anonymous keyboard warriors would dare to criticize her, in any way. Such hypocrites.

Kind of crazy that you would even click on this thread then. No one is forcing anything on you - certainly not these pictures. If you want to vomit, why are you here?

Only crazy ones. Most people would say not my style. But vomiting? Calling them pigs and masculine and skeletal? Nope. This shows deep insecurity and rabid anger at something unattainable. I went to several Lebanese extravagant weddings and, while they were so over the top and definitely not my style, I was happy for the family and honored to be invited. I didn't even dream to think that they needed my acceptance and the last thing that crossed my mind was to critique their makeup, hair, or clothes. And no, I didn't vomit looking at the flower arrangements. But I don't have a mental disease.

EXACTLY.

If you look at movie stars from the 30's, 40's and 50's most of them had Allie's type of figure--B cup or maybe a bit smaller. You did not
have the extreme breast augmentation that is performed now. As a small chested woman I think woman with small busts age more youthfully.
My large busted friends just look extremely matronly at age 45 and older. Allie's Mom is pictured in one of the images and she is very attractive and natural looking.
