+1,000 And PP, she doesn’t have thick hair at all. Her hair is very thin. |
I thought Jill Kargman's whole persona was based on being relatively "middle class" in a sea of wealth. She writes about how she lives in kind of a dingy neighborhood, doesn't "summer" or fly by private jet etc--it's her whole thing. Yet her dad heads Chanel? I am confused. |
Headed, past tense but moreso, I think that's Jill's style, more low key, but I think she absolutely travels in those circles. That's why she contrasts herself. I saw a blurb recently where she talked about her gallery wall in her apt and how she grew to treasure it, and she noted some of the art cost almost nothing, it was about the meaning it held, etc. That's how she thinks or how she wants us to think she thinks...i think she is sincere, maybe a little adhd? and she has had enormous privilege that allows for a very laid back attitude about it. Her mom coco koppelman is on instagram, she seems very family oriented. |
I don't think it's that she's comparatively "middle class" (she is definitely loaded) more that she doesn't play a game of one-upmanship that runs rampant in those circles. She's secure in her wealth and also doesn't think it should define her, like "rich" is not a personality trait. She's not someone who would be doing the real-life equivalent of posting here "what HHI to own a private jet? What bakery do the rich use on the UES? Ugh, did you see that sweater? Last season! Should be in the trash." She's no particularly flashy or ostentatious, and unlike some other people in her orbit seems to still be able to take pleasure in some simple or meaningful things, like the photo wall mentioned above or the flowers she buys at the bodega. |
It's her shtick. Makes her relatable to be the black sheep / audience stand in |
This is truly one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. If someone is a non-observant Jew, and grows up spending summers in Nantucket, then that's their vibe. Period. Sounds like you want the men to wear kippahs, a chuppah to be used, and the horah to be danced - simply because the groom and his family are ethnically Jewish? Sorry, no. I'm ethnically Jewish but have never even been inside a synagogue. There were no traces of Judaism at my wedding because I don't identify with the faith. Stop trying to dictate other people's personal preferences. |
Exactly what I thought as I read your post. Who on earth would critique another person in this way? A complete strange, someone you know nothing about, who is incredibly happy on her big day. I can't even imagine how unhappy and insecure you must be to say such rude things about another woman. Wow. |
That's the point! The PPs were crowing about how Marina Rust was so "much better" than this bride - and yet their weddings were exactly the same. So idiotic. |
+1 Thank you. So sick of hearing this garbage about thin women not being "real women." People cannot help their genetics - as I'm sure some of the overweight posters here would agree. |
And? Are we allowed to say, "soooooo black"? ![]() ![]() ![]() |
+ a zillion Understatement of the century. |
Totally agree. And if this woman was black, not one of these anonymous keyboard warriors would dare to criticize her, in any way. Such hypocrites. |
Kind of crazy that you would even click on this thread then. No one is forcing anything on you - certainly not these pictures. If you want to vomit, why are you here? |
EXACTLY. |
If you look at movie stars from the 30's, 40's and 50's most of them had Allie's type of figure--B cup or maybe a bit smaller. You did not have the extreme breast augmentation that is performed now. As a small chested woman I think woman with small busts age more youthfully. My large busted friends just look extremely matronly at age 45 and older. Allie's Mom is pictured in one of the images and she is very attractive and natural looking. |
