I remember people saying it was a good match up, Freedom was up, and they got rained out. They scheduled to redo and got rained out again. Don’t hear anything about any cheating.

They were not up. They were getting beat. It originally got postponed due to lighting. Then all the other stuff happened with rescheduling the game. It never happened so they wiped it off their schedule like it never happened.

DeMatha was up 14-13 when the game was stopped on Friday night. When they came back on Saturday, Freedom scored to take a 21-14 lead before the lightning came back and the game was called for good.

Everyone has generally supported FCPS sports as a whole over the years. There are rivalries. There is always the one or two kids that should be going to one school versus another. Parents have been parents and some have/can be obnoxious, especially when cheering for their son or daughter. Most have congratulated all schools when they have had very successful championship programs/teams. That has been the community we live in.

NO ONE has ever done what Hayfield did this year for football in any sport, ever, at an FCPS public school. To encourage the transfer from one county to another of 24 student athletes to participate in one sport in the same school year is disgusting. To have moved the Director of Student Services to another school when that person began to see what was going on is evidence enough. There is SO much shady business that has gone on and been reported about, it’s no longer funny.

Whatever the temperature of the community is currently, it is the direct result of the actions of those 24 families/players and the coach, DSA and principal at Hayfield High School. They have earned all the criticism with this issue and should man up and look at themselves before defaming others with BS race comments meant to deflect from the real issue that they all where involved in this cheating scandal. They will never admit to it and will continue to deflect away from their lack of moral character.

There will be an * next this team for many years to come and they have earned it. Good luck in the playoffs to all.

Are you saying the lightning saved Freedom and they avoided the rematch because they were afraid of losing? Is that what you are trying to say?

I said what I said. If you want to read into and interpret it to fit your narrative by all means.

Okay so you said hayfield was down, the game got called due to weather, and was never made up. Got it.

Hayfield? We are talking about Freedom but you right it’s Freefield now!

Those kids were leaving Freedom regardless. They weren’t staying. They followed the rules of the VHSL and FCPS by moving into the Hayfield zone.

Yeah, but they didn’t move into the Hayfield zone. They used addresses for residences where they really didn’t live and claimed homelessness when they really weren’t homeless.

They deserved to be in the playoffs more than Hayfield.

Robinson Girls Cross Country team won States today. So three state winning teams for Robinson in 2024. Football ain't everything.

The Robinson lacrosse parents are every bit as obnoxious as the Hayfield football parents.

Do the Robinson lacrosse parents go along with schemes in which their children lie about being homeless in order to enroll at Robinson?

Asking for a friend.

If that is what the OP is trying to say, then the OP is 100% correct.

Yeah, except they didn't all move into the "Hayfield zone" so they weren't following the rules.

Also, several of them broke the law by claiming to be homeless. At this point I think they should be charged. That all parties involved have shown zero remorse for their actions is disgusting, from FCPS, to the Hayfield administration, to the negligent parents of the kids who transfered, to the coaching staff etc...

Well they are more economically advantaged at Robinson so they find better ways to fake an address there.

The allegations you make were proven false by the people of the commonwealth of Virginia.

If they were winning, why be scared to finish the game?

No, they weren't. Seriously you should sit this one out, it is pathetic how little you know about all of this.
