Yeah.... the comments echo what I kind of think of Harris. She seems a bit something. The comments said “opportunistic” but that’s not quite it for me. Sort of showboating when she doesn’t need to? I can’t think of the word to encapsulate that. She’s an incredibly capable woman and cheap tricks just seem below her. Again, I will vote for Biden regardless of who he picks, but Harris strikes me as a somewhat weak choice for VP.

She can't seem to get away from prosecutorial theatrics, and yes in a serious political arena they do come across as cheap. But it's the only time she seems to get press, maybe why she keeps doing it. It makes her a more style over substance politician, and I'm not here for it.

I cannot believe that in a nation that elected trump you think theatrics is a bad thing.

I love Karen Bass so much: health care background, awarded for making a bipartisan deal to help rebuild the LA economy after the last recession, spearheaded police reform legislation in the house, history of activism and leadership positions including the CBC, foreign policy chops. Warm and even-tempered, and an excellent speaker. She's pretty perfect, but I have a feeling she's not theatrical enough for the pick.

This appears to be all they can find on Bass and if that’s it she has a good shot.

I don't love her seemingly positive remarks about Castro, and think Obama's and Kerry's were more tempered but I see there's a context for them. Also I believe a high percentage of her constituents are hispanic, though I'm not sure about Cuban-Americans. Regardless, no one candidate will please everyone and of course Floridian congressional folks would prefer Demings anyway. But Bass is far less problematic in other respects than Demings, and has far more experience. And even though she's not young, her progressive credentials could help with young voters.

I would cry with joy if Karen Bass is selected. Tremendously qualified and utterly perfect for this moment.

What’s interesting is that the majority of African Americans when polled do not what race to be a motivating factor in whom Biden chooses. Since it’s likely that Biden will die in office, we should be going for candidates who can really govern on day 1. That brings us back to Whitmer, Harris, Lujan, or Raimondo.

You forgot Warren.

I’ve always said this. Pick the best person. Trump will be voted out. Pick the best VP. Most republicans have decided to get behind Biden, the Lincoln Project made a formal endorsement. Republican Voters Against Trump. And many young and first time voters that are fired up and angry about the last 4 years of high school. Voters are active at younger ages now. Black people are going to turn out I’m record numbers to vote Trump out. So will a lot of protesters. Who is the best person to govern this country and this climate from day 1? Someone that isn’t a sellout, or shaky and always playing things safe. We need someone bold, educated, far from corruption, with a good business sense and a strong track record of public service.

Warren was always my first choice, then Whitmer. Someone needs to strongly consider the CBA for Warren. She has the voice that people will listen to, and there is a large group of Bernie Bros that may find her position aligning with theirs. Warren is tough enough to address this chaos without breaking down. Demings has appeal for reasons already stated, and I have yet to learn more about Bass. Kamala is clearly being pushed despite most people having no strong feelings toward her. Have no idea what that is, but I get excited thinking of her as AG especially for post-Trump/Sessions/Barr/DOJ investigations. We need her there after all od the criminal activity of this administration. She is such a strong fit there, and she is open to it. She is young enough to consider a run after AG time, and Can further demonstrate the qualities that may find her electable as President one day through her work as AG.

Close to none of the candidates discussed here is particularly inspiring to Hispanics.

And we remember Joe's role enabling the Deporter'in-Chief.

A white woman is going to alienate some voters on the fringe left.

A woman of color is going to alienate some voters in the center or center-left.

The election will likely be determined by WI, PA, MI, AZ, maybe FL, and maybe NC.

The person who is selected will be selected because the campaign will think she’ll cost the least number of votes in these key states.

LOL. "All they can find."

“I wish to express my condolences to the Cuban people and the family of Fidel Castro. The passing of the comandante en jefe is a great loss to the people of Cuba. I hope together, our two nations will continue on the new path of support and collaboration with one another, and continue in the new direction of diplomacy.” - Karen Bass

Face it.

When the VP pick is Identity Politics Roulette, nobody is going to fit the bill.

And accidentally added Harris who has not even completed her first term at senator and he no other governing experience. AGs prosecute ....they don’t lead.
