I am fiscally conservative and I like these numbers. So if I were single issue, Gee then Dem it is, to quote PP.

How do we know these numbers are correct? Published by ACLU and study could be biased.

Yeah, BS article. 20 year old math.

Just think about the 100k migrants living in NYC. Getting a place to stay, food, healthcare, clothes. Costs about 3-4 billion per year said the Mayor.

How much tax money is NYC getting from them. Maybe a 100k for sales tax on items they are buying?

Also their kids are in public schools

Yep, the polling for this inept administration has been abhorrent on border issues. And, just about on every other issue as well, but border is the worst.
Hey - it only took 3 years for them to see that border security is national security.
However, I don't think anything meaningful will actually be done. Just a lot of talk. In order to fool the American people into thinking they are doing something.

So, where are these people NOW?

NEW: Internal CBP data provided & confirmed by CBP sources reveals thousands of “special interest aliens” from mostly Middle Eastern countries have been apprehended by Border Patrol while crossing into U.S. illegally over last 2 years.

Syria: 538
Yemen: 139
Iran: 659
Iraq: 123
Afghanistan: 6,386
Lebanon: 164
Egypt: 3,153
Pakistan: 1,613
Mauritania: 15,594
Uzbekistan: 13,624
Turkey: 30,830

Date range 10/1/2021 - 10/4/2023

These are Border Patrol apprehensions between ports of entry only, this data does not include CBP encounters at ports of entry.

Border Patrol sources tell me they have extreme concerns about who is coming into the country because they have little to no way of vetting people from these special interest countries. I’m told unless they have committed a crime previously in the US, or they are on some sort of federal watchlist, there’s no way to know who they are because most of their home countries don’t share data/records with the US so there is nothing to match a name to when BP agents run fingerprints.

A special interest alien is a term used by the U.S. government to refer to people coming from countries that have conditions that favor or harbor terrorism, or pose a potential national security to the U.S.

Okay so do we want to apprehend these people or not? Because on one hand you keep yelling open borders but yet we keep apprehending people so I am very confused because that seems to make you upset as well

"Apprehended" does not mean in custody. It means they were processed and most released into the country.
And, that still leaves the 1.7 million KNOWN got aways - none of whom we know the identities.
So, yes, our borders are open.

Since when does apprehend not mean taken into custody?.... Literally every time it is used law enforcement have the person..... They apprehended the gunman. They don't just wave to him and then pass him through

I don't think open borders means what you think it does.... We have a very broken immigration system and until someone can come up with a comprehensive way to reform the entire system and not have the average wait time for processing be 5 years. We are going to continue to have people find their way illegally into this country whether you build a wall or whatever.... It will happen because that is human nature. Does that suck? Yes, yes it does. That is why we need comprehensive immigration reform that Republicans keep sitting on

+1

But if they dealt with immigration, their bigoted followers would have one less thing to get agitated about.

They’re just upset in general, but they’re all experts in their own minds about immigration because of course the right wing propaganda they believe is telling them the truth.

Good Lord you are naive. And, uninformed.
CBP "apprehends" thousands of migrants every day. They are processed. A very small number of them are deported. The remainder are released into the country.
Do some research.

We need mandatory e-verify

Why is that so hard for democrats to understand?

It is an initial baby step that can be done now

Again, I would happily vote for a candidate that had an actual plan for strengthening our borders and immigration system.... It needs a 100% overhaul and until Congress gets behind that nothing that any president will do will change what is currently happening... No I'm not saying there isn't room for some improvements but an average 5 to 7-year wait time for an introductory hearing is absolutely batshit crazy and no one is going to go through that system... It needs to be a streamlined comprehensive policy and we need to pour money into it... But where do you think that money comes from?...... With with corporate loopholes and tax breaks, we will never have the money to sustain any type of comprehensive immigration reform. All the Republicans do is fan the flames and can never come up with a single alternative and actually commit to funding it.... See also healthcare in this country... How many years did they b**** and moan about Obamacare saying they were going to replace it with something so cheap and so marvelous and over 15 years later we still have nothing from them, not even a rough draft

How much vetting did the 9/11 hijackers get before securing US visas and flying into the country legally? Most were from Saudi Arabia, which is not listed above.
