Madison -9 Oakton -8 |
Assumed that was obvious to everyone. My mistake if anyone thought I was including the private schools or even Dominion. |
Any game details on the Madison / Oakton contest? |
JMU girl did not score enough… |
Ha! Context was obvious. Looks like we have a Karen on this board. |
Madison’s offense is not as powerful as last year. Losing Pisani and Condon makes them less deadly. Oakton returns nearly their whole starting lineup. Counts and Casto very good but not as good. Oakton’s defense should be able to contain enough with #17 and #8. Can Madison stop #11, #4, and #21 is the question. Oakton’s goalie is also a wild card.
Madison’s offense or defense isnt as good as Oaktons and Madison won’t be able to match up with Oaktons best players. Oaktons goalie is much stronger than Madison’s goalie as well. |
Watch out, Oakton, the Madison Dirty Birds/Warhawks are just that.... dirty! Be sure to wear your helmets. I hope the "A Team" of officials are assigned tonight! |
Nice win by Madison last night, and face guarding #11. Smartest thing they could do as the oakton offense could not function and lots of confusion as the coaches seems to loose their composure. So much for coach of the year…. See you in regionals |
Was there any yellow cards or ejections in the oakton/Madison game? |
Oakton #11 had at least one yellow. |
While the scoreboard had this game close in a strange way it seemed like the outcome was never in doubt for Madison once they got up in the first half. Madison controlled the draw from the start and possession most of the night and won many of the 50/50s. Their turnovers, fouls, and questionable shot selection at times kept them from extending the lead on several occasions. Oakton’s goalie made some timely saves as well to keep the game close. #21 for Oakton had a nice game. Madison did a nice job defending #11, who just never got on track all night. She wasn’t much of a factor in the game. Both teams traded costly turnovers late in the game, but Madison seemed to find a way to come up with the ball to control possession much of the last five minutes. Congrats to Madison and good luck to both teams heading into the next playoff round. |
She had 2, but last one with 0:53 in the game. If it went to overtime she wouldn't have been able to play. But she only had one goal, so wasn't even really involved last night at all. Didn't even go back on the defensive end, just stayed at attack and just walked around face guarded. |
Two YCs, one on #11 for a check to the head and the other for Madison. |
The PP is correct. There was a second yellow issued to Oakton late in the game. |
How many did 4 score for oakton? Did Madison 1st team all districts lead the way for them? Any dirty plays?
Sorry to ask but couldn’t watch last night. |
