Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
Sure, but that same uncertainty is present in nearly every school right now. |
| True. But Wootton has it in addition to all the upheaval of the last few years. |
The assistant principal who left last year was not an acting assistant principal. She was also not involved in the racist word on a printer situation. |
| Wooton is too racially charged right now (for real and imagined slights and incidents). Along with a building badly in need of a renovation. New principal is good in some ways but very bad in others (bordering on unethical behavior in trying to improve the graduation rate). Stressful place at the moment to teach or be a counselor. |
Boundary changes? What? No. No one even brings that up. Only families care about that. |
| Did Central Office ever reach out to the teachers and counselors who left to try to figure out why? |
You’re joking, right? |
Seriously had to laugh -DP |
Just got some dirt that Seyoum was seen in the school building at Magruder late in the evening packing up her office and a teacher asked what was going on and she just laughed. It was obvious she was leaving, but no one was saying anything. It makes you wonder if she put in for a transfer and Ascienzo (Magruder principal) didn't know anything until the last minute because that position is technically still empty at Magruder (new AP starts on 9/15). |
Are you saying that with everything going on at Wootton that Central Office is putting week admin into the vacant positions? Wouldn't that just make the Wootton problem worse? |
| More exodus. 2 addition teacher vacancies posted this week. |
|
Heard that the new admin are reaching out to the students to tell them how to be a straight A student. Seems to me that the students know that... they need more focus on how to balance academics with other things... in other words, how to reduce anxiety.
Not sure that this admin team has the pulse of the student. Maybe they are just doing things they did at previous schools without differentiating for Wootton. |
But Bostic’s priority is that the school gets back to 5 stars. |
Because that is Taylor’s priority. Bostic will move heaven and earth to get Wooton back to 5 stars. Next stop, district superintendent. If you know Bostic, you know he is ambitious. |
Isn't getting to five stars a good goal? |
