+1 I’m a huge true crime junkie, too, and I second the above. I’d maybe add Amanda Knox to your list, but otherwise I couldn’t name any more white women. I could, however, name +10 Asian and black women who have gone missing. I honestly think it’s just soooo trendy to flag the “white blonde woman” card. Yet, none of these people actually follow the genre or general media coverage. |
This is so false in my case. I read all about Kylen and Crystal first, and was shocked when I learned that the Aug 12th police cam of Gabby and Brian was due to fighting at Kylen or Crystals store, the Moonflower grocery coop. I suspected a connection. The creepy guy. . although posters have said a connection was ruled out by now. |
| And theres a lengthy thread about this case because we think we know Brian did it, he is on the run, and there's so many videos, witnesses, and odd social media things. Their "job" was social media. We don't have much to review in the case of Kylen and Crystal. We don't know who did it either, no suspect. |
+1. I wasn't really paying attention to the Gabby case until it came out that they were arguing in front of the place this couple worked, the day before they died, and they were camping in the same area. Then it was like HOLD UP. Kylen and Crystal were in the news maybe 2 whole weeks before Gabby and are probably the real reason this story got legs. |
| The Kylen and Crystal story is also how I learned about people doing the "van life." And I thought, how dangerous that must be. |
| Also, I think it's really hetreonormative of the pp who said I couldn't relate to the lesbian couple to assume I can't relate to them. Lady, I'm an anonymous person on the internet and you don't know my sexuality or what's relatable. You can't just assume that. Yeesh. |

I think Gabby's story would have gotten far less press if he'd cooperated with the police. He could have just said we broke up and she decided she wasn't comfortable driving the van. She said she was meeting a friend, I don't know who, and I'd mail her parents the proceeds from selling the van. I last saw her in X.
The fact he refused to cooperate and was acting guilty as all get out caught media attention, which resulted in them finding the body, and then we found out he ran. Now it's a spectical. |
Right? I visited Yosemite in the summer and unoccupied wasn't a word that came to mind, even in the less visited areas. |
People are not talking about true crime junkies surfing Netflix. Folks are saying NBC/CBS/ABC are not featuring certain women (or MEN). And it’s true. Hundreds of native women have gone missing in that same area and I can’t name one of them. I don’t want them to stop featuring people like Gabby Petito. I want them to give a bit of airtime for people like Jelani Day. Or Kylen and Crystal (I learned their names here). |
|
I visited the Badlands, Rushmore, and Custer State Park this summer and it was overrun with people. But very bad cell service, lots of wild animals, and hot springs. Signs warning about rattlesnakes.
Theme parks with rollercoasters at least have workers inspecting the place each morning or whatever. National Parks make no such claims for their safety. |
You're ignoring the reason why it's so difficult to track cases of Native Amwerican women who go missing-- which is sadly a common occurrence. It's almost impossible to get the tribal governments to release information or cooperate, and the families interact within the tribes rather than with the mainstream media. This is like asking why we don't care about Amish women who go missing. |

Getting back to Brian, I would not be at all surprised he murdered the lesbian couple.
It's way too much coincidence that they were all in the same area when the couple was murdered. Brian supposedly has a concealed carry gun of some sort. He's a weirdo, and the women said they had been spooked by a weirdo in the vicinity. What are the chances? |
You mean like this bisexual Indian doctor with a substance abuse problem that has been endlessly written about in tabloids? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Sneha_Anne_Philip |
Completely agree. I think that stuff about the other guy they arrested with guns and knives is a red herring. |
Agree! The fight between Gabby and Brian at the Moonflower Coop and police cam was Aug 12th I think, they were supposed to stay separated that night, and Kylen and Crystal were last seen Aug 13th at a bar. |
