I suggest the 08 parents ask for a new coach next year. I have an older DD at Arlington and our (soon to be) ECNL team would love to have him. I have not heard of him being abusive ever from anyone on any of his former teams. In Arlington circles he is revered. Was he just upset over stupid mistakes made during games in ASSIST or has this been a season-long issue? First I have heard of it is on this page. Maybe you can get Alexis back?

Why is it that so many coaches tend to look on parents as the adversary? For a lot of them, it is a personal insult if the parents have any questions.

That is the exact recipe for a clique. A majority of the team having been together for 3-4 years with a subset of them going to the same private school. New kids never quite feel welcomed or included and the non-private school kids are still not quite on the in crowd.

It is amazing that you can write the above and not see how it could be a bit clicky.

So are the ones getting mis-treated by their teammates the 1/3 that haven't been together since they were 5 or the public school kids?

The point of ECNL is that the best players play. If you really want that elite vibe, the social thing has got to go. If the team wants to stay together, here’s a thought experiment: would the girls drop down to Red or White to stay together? If not — there’s the issue. Get ready for new rosters.
