Imagine thinking that mocking a governor who is providing feminine hygiene products for (low income) students so they don't have the extra burden of blood-stained clothing, is some sort of "own"?

Who in the hell could support such an insidious, selfish, hateful political party as the GOP? And I don't even care if you hate the Dems, but the GOP is just scummy.

So if they are not investing their money, where is it going?

Well let’s see, for decades they were both teachers who don’t make much money. They needed IVF to have their kids, and one of them has a learning disability. Sent both kids to college. He was in Congress where you need to maintain a place to stay here as well as your residence. Now he’s the Governor. Not sure they really ever had a lot of extra money. But I’m sure we’ll find out more when we see their tax returns.

Yeah this sounds like most people I know. Other poster is in a sweet bubble.

I’m a bit worried about his money management skills, honestly. Time will tell, I guess.

This isn’t helping the socialist/commie accusations. Not owning a home at 60+ as a current governor is embarrassing. He was former military so there’s no excuse to not owning a home.

He’s cheap

DP. He sold his home. He is the real deal—a public servant, a leader, a National Guardsman, and someone who cares about people. That money and property ownership may not matter that much to him is admirable. Having said that, if and when he wants to write a book or whatever, he will quickly have more money than pretty much anyone posting here. Tim Walz will be vp and, eventually, president. He will take this country to a better place.

The couple took home a combined $166,719 in 2022, with just over $51,000 of that coming from Gwen Walz’s income as an educator and the rest from Tim Walz’s salary as governor. He has had a pay bump since then, his salary going from $116,000 to $149,550.

“The majority of the Walz’s assets are in savings and pensions. They have a 529 college savings plan for their children and hold life insurance policies along with four pensions between them. He is also likely to be eligible for federal retirement plans.”

He and his wife probably have teacher pensions. He also has a Congressional pension and possibly a Gubinitorial pension. Like most Americans, he doesn't have a lot saved up. Why is this so shocking?

Army National Guard pension starts after 20 years, if you are 60.

And they owned a house... and sold it to move into the governor's mansion. I'm sure they saved that money somewhere. Maybe not in an interest bearing account, who knows?

No, Governor Walz refused the Governor pay raise.

As of August of 2023, the Compensation Council had received communication from the Governor's office that he will not be increasing his salary. While the official salary has increased, the amount Governor Walz is receiving will not change and will remain at $127,629.

Dcum hates old midwestern people, white old people that are midwestern hicks.

Dcum looks down on people who don’t invest money and have retirement and investment portfolios.

Somehow Walz is a fabulous guy when he’s an old white midwestern rube with no savings or investments. Hmmmm.

This is good. It means he is, actually, a true believer in progressivism.

You mean, a believer in not owning anything?

Most Americans don’t own anything or have a 401k. It is a sign of having grown up poor which I assume was the case for him in Nebraska. He probably had a dad that didn’t have a credit card and believed in cash only and didn’t believe in banks or mortgages.

I have older family members that are like that but it is unusual that he would not own a home or have a 401k as a freaking governor.

That’s just being cheap.

Mike Pence also sold his home when he moved into the governor’s mansion.

I think it’s that he’s putting menstrual products in the boys’ room that’s an issue, not free menstrual products. Doesn’t anyone have common sense now?

Ok but my money better matter to this loony socialist. When I am 60, I don’t want to be broke like he is.

Nope. People are infatuated with Harris yet know nothing about her platform.

There are trans boys. Additionally, boys have girlfriends, sisters, female friends, etc. It’s good to provide more access rather than less. Feminine hygiene products can be expensive.

I may not be old but I am Midwestern (Minnesotan, actually), and decidedly on the hick side of things and I only “flyover” and similar contempt for the middle of the country from the right wingers on this site.

The law just says the products have to be available at no cost to menstruating students. It does not say where they must be placed.
Although I'm not sure what the horror is if they happen to be in the boys bathroom tbh.

Please, MAGA, tell us who the victim of this policy is? You may not believe it’s doing good but please tell us who it harms.
