Yeah this sounds like most people I know. Other poster is in a sweet bubble. |
He and his wife probably have teacher pensions. He also has a Congressional pension and possibly a Gubinitorial pension. Like most Americans, he doesn't have a lot saved up. Why is this so shocking? |
He provably has CDs or savings accounts or something. |
The Governor’s salary is $130K. |
I’m a bit worried about his money management skills, honestly. Time will tell, I guess. |
+1 |
| Honestly I think he outshines Harris. Not in a negative way, like he's trying to steal attention. He's just naturally charismatic |
Right but he lives in the Governor’s mansion rent free, has free transportation and I’m sure there is a large budget for entertaining. That doesn’t come out of his salary. |
Many Americans are in the same financial situation, and if anything makes Wolz far more relatable. Which, until recently, was something MAGA kept arguing about Trump. |
Yes! Also, do people understand how pensions work? It’s a percentage of income that gets taken out each paycheck and…invested. It’s a pretty substantial portion in fact. So I am not sure it is accurate to say that teachers with pensions haven’t “saved” or “invested” anything. After tax, social security and pension gets taken out each month there isn’t a whole lot to throw in the stock market. -A teacher |
Here you go. Do you not remember this?? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vuG7dZzj2uo |

OK, thanks. That does make sense. His 401ks and 403bs would not be reported. It makes more sense now. |

Most Americans don’t own anything or have a 401k. It is a sign of having grown up poor which I assume was the case for him in Nebraska. He probably had a dad that didn’t have a credit card and believed in cash only and didn’t believe in banks or mortgages. I have older family members that are like that but it is unusual that he would not own a home or have a 401k as a freaking governor. That’s just being cheap. |
