She lost me at "I didn't Google him" when they started dating, and "I don't read the tabloids". Please!
If you start out on such a false note, made the rest of what she said dodgy. He seemed desperate to believe the narrative; honestly, at this point what option does he have?

She's such a liar. She's stated over and over again that her friends warned her about all the pressure, about the racism, about the press, she knew exactly what she was getting into.

And it was awful and they left.

My point was that she said last night she didn't know what she was getting into, but she did, just ignored all the warnings and then it turns out her friends were right and she should have listened to them. But now she's playing victim and saying things like "I didn't know what I was getting into". Oh please. She knew what she was getting into but thought she could charm her way out of all of it. Turns out she was wrong.

I disagree. He'll see first and foremost what his father did to protect his mother and their children.

Harry and Meghan were both pretty circumspect about the worst things. If they'd really wanted to dish on the BRF, so they could have said so much more.

Oh geez, this isn’t some act of valor. Meghan and Harry, but particularly Meghan, were tired of being second fiddle to Kate and William. They didn’t want to live the often monotonous and restrictive life of the real “working royals”. Meghan wants stardom and glamor and to be THE star. That wasn’t going to happen in the UK. They’re behaving like spoiled brats.

And Meghan’s grievances about title, aside from being unfounded and her assertions untrue (there was NO deviation of protocol), reveals what she really wants: status.

Oprah’s look of dubiousness said it all. Also wonder if Meghan was a high maintenance interviewee.

Give me a break. You sound stupid.

Many people will focus on staging their backyard to look like an outdoor living room like the interview setting.

I mean people with taste already do.

+1 This is nothing new, really backyard furniture is a novelty?

I’m talking the gardening plus the same furniture, rug, etc.

I’ve seen several articles about this already.

Plus: succulents.

It looks silly when someone looks like they raided Costco - can we all agree on that? Can we not go out and buy a bunch of heat lamps and a bunch of couches for the "outside living room"? Because we live in the DMV, and certainly not California. Keep the hillbilly reigned in, it is a thin line between small, quaint outside seating area and "oh look, an outside living room (ie: raided Costco. Four times.) ??!!" Please and thank you.

Wasn’t it a neighbors backyard? It was gorgeous.

Doubtful. Tourism is a very big deal in Britain. And, where do the tourists go? Look it up.

Still find it hard to believe that Megan knew so little about Diana--she was 16 when she died and it was a very, very big deal. Clearly, Megan likes and is interested in the celebrity life. Kind of hard to feel too sorry for them since they just purchased a $15 million property. And, they couldn't afford security? Somehow, all that seemed a little shallow.

To me, neither side in this story is innocent of poor behavior.

They said they could afford security but he said he was shocked that he in particular would not be afforded security as he was born into the danger and did not sigh up for it.

No, that's not what he said. He said the BRF pulled security while they were in Canada. They asked the BRF to reconsider because everyone knew exactly where they were (down to which house) in Canada. This was also when COVID lockdowns started so a lot was up in the air and borders were being closed. He said part of the reason they had to make deals was to fund things, including security. That was his number one worry re: expenses. They can't skimp on that. Look at what other famous people spend on security. One figure I saw was $7 million/year.

He said they are fiancing their own security form his inheritance form Diana and forom the money they earn going forward.

It sounded to me like the pulling of security was an emotional and financial shock. Pretty heartless IMO.

Why all the whining about the British press? Are the tabloids there any worse than ours here? I’ve seen tons of negative press about her here.

It seems they did not have safety and now they do.

Yeah, I mean I'm sure the reality of it would be a bit jarring EVEN IF you were fully prepared, but come on. In this day and age, the Diana defense of feigning ignorance just doesn't work.

I think the person who made the remarks about skin color was Andrew, most likely.
I want to mention that Prince Edward's kids don't have royal titles, though they qualify for titles by the letters patent.
Meghan and Harry probably are better off out of the firm. I am sure it was not a sudden move for them
Meghan is disingenuous about seeking help with her suicidal feelings through Human Resources. That doesn't compute at all

Yes, in the case of what was seen on the interview, it was done beautifully, and well understated. In this area, people tend to overdo it (more than a bit) - and they tend to try for an "outdoor room" - but it looks silly, with crap everywhere. Very hillbilly. 2-3 pieces of furniture looks quaint and nice.

But they weren't. There's no denying that people were way more interested in Harry and Meghan. That's why the tabloids got fed so many ridiculous stories to take them down.

If he was old enough to school they would have refused to pay for it.

This is bullshit. Archie is the great grandchild of the Monarch. No great grandchildren have princely titles. That is how it is. When they become grandchildren of the monarch - when Charles ascends to the throne - they will get security.

Right.....but this thinking is completely outdated. We live in an age of social media radicalization and extremism. Where radicals plot violence on apps and can act on it in a matter of days.

That child has very real security needs TODAY. Not when Charles ascends to the throne. Now.

This is just one instance where the BRF as an institution refuses to face reality.

And anyone who can afford to buy a $20 Million house can afford private security guards instead of mooching off of granny.

They certainly could have "settled" for a perfectly lovely $5 million house, with ample left for security etc., but they really do want to have their cake.

Is it your money?

Anonymous wrote:I agree with all of this. I will also say that the Royal Family operates in a historical timeline almost 40-50 years behind the rest of the 'world'. Their kids only go to the most elite private schools which are not diverse in any sense of word - racially, economically, or religiously. They mostly interact on a day-to-day basis with servants or courtiers who are actual members of noble families themselves - I mean if you want your mind blown look up the Queen's Racing Manager's 'house' - Lord 'Porchie'. They watch TV but that's not experiencing life.

In conclusion I can totally see how William grew up to be a racist in the 21st Century.

Celebitchy psycho.

Eeek.

Yes those Americans that care have watched Di/Charles wedding we have heard the stories throughout the years. But to actually be there in the midst is a whole other situation.

Yup. And if she had Googled him extensively, the haters here would've called her an obsessed gold-digging stalker. Well, they already call her a gold diggger.

There's no extensive Googling necessary. He's a prince. You google "Prince Harry" and everything you need to know comes up on the first page. If my husband had a wikipedia entry, I sure as hell would have read it.

Yes, they are way worse in the UK than in the US.

Excellent point! And peace and quiet! Maybe bullies don't like that so well?

Also, how could MM know what she was getting into, truly, if she didn't even live in England before the wedding?
