After 11/3, the White House will issue broad-form pardons protecting several dozen appointees and electeds. The list has already been created. One of the ways that they are enforcing absolute obedience from senior appointees is threatening to remove them from the pardon list.

Barr's original announcement said the US Attorney for NJ would be the temporary replacement. Today, it's the NY Deputy Attorney and Berman called her as being the correct temporary appointee. So I think there is something going on with the guy in NJ.

Link? I’m only seeing Barr’s representation of events, and not a direct resignation from Bergman or recognition that Barr has the authority to fire him, since Trump has not.

He’s only leaving because he negotiated that his second in command will become Acting, thus ensuring the continuation of all investigations.

So, Trump and Barr did not get what they wanted.
