Any colleges not hated by someone here? Any college universally loved?

Sorry, but any college that erects a statue of Ronald Reagan on campus is a joke. And it stays afloat due to donations from some of the same right-wing groups that try to buy state elections.

How does donating to Hillsdale "buy state elections"? It's a podunk school that's churning out smart kids and has grown their endowment faster than any (S)LAC in the nation. They have an A+ long-term financial rating by Forbes, right there with HYPS. It's objectively really impressive. Every SLAC in the nation would kill for Hilldale's momentum and financial shape.

They would have to sell their soul to the devil to match what Hillsdale did. I loved visiting a friend there 30 years ago, but it's a different crowd there now.

Please tell me EXACTLY what Hillsdale did with citations. I have no idea what you are blathering on about.

Notre Dame. It's as if the school has cult status.

If you want to freeze in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of D3 athletes and prep school kids and don't mind that you're basically going to see the same faces for four years.

Perhaps among Catholics who actually think being known for Touchdown Jesus is a good thing.

Oh, and despite what Pete Buttigieg might want you to believe, South Bend is still a dump.

Hope they’ll be okay without you.

There were people who hated Mother Teresa. I'm pretty sure there is some hate for each and every school.

I don’t hate Mother Teresa, but but there were some very problematic things that she did.

Ok, I started (and had deleted) and attempted humorous thread about hating colleges. In reality I only hate the uber fundamentalist religious schools, such as Bob Jones, Oral Roberts, and Liberty. Those I hate. Other schools, I mostly respect...Except for the arch rival of the college I went to. Them I despise (but if my DD went there, I would have been ok with it).

In real life, I have seen nothing but love for St. Olaf. I visited with DC and can see why. Special place. Not where he ended up because they didn’t quite have a program he wanted, But I would have felt great sending him there over a school ranked much higher is USNWR.

I’m sure DCUM would sneer at St. Olaf, though.

Not much hate for Bowdoin except for those who hate every school in a rural town.

I hear the food is good, but the location does suck and for what it is Williams, Amherst and Swarthmore are better.
