Any colleges not hated by someone here? Any college universally loved?

Eh, Wisconsin is in a cute town but it's really cold and just an ok school. Some good programs, some not. In-state stats not particularly high, not a lot of diversity. So I guess I break the universal trend. I don't hate it, but don't particularly like it either. (And I've spent a good deal of time in Madison--which I do like).

MIT and Stanford seem to have universal sterling reputations. And Dartmouth is prestigious but still flies somewhat under the radar, thus it avoids spirited vitriol.

And nobody really cares about SLACs, their alum network is so small, they're fairly obscure outside of New England, so they don't warrant animated debate.

Minnesotans and certain Iowans would beg to differ, but that is more sports team envy than anything else.

Your bias is showing.

Not really sure how to use commas, huh?

Dartmouth has alot of problems with sexual assualt and its in a cow town in New Hampshire. Williams is also in a terrible area. Wisconsin is the "Better dead than Red" school. SLACs are way over rated on this site.

Based on your atrocious writing I’m going to go out on a limb and guess you didn’t graduate from a LAC.

People familiar with American colleges and universities can find fault with any of them.

MIT is full of HYPS rejects and the students look like they are auditioning for The Big Bang Theory.

Stanford campus looks like a giant Taco Bell and is in an overpriced, ugly town.

Dartmouth is in the middle of nowhere and there's a campus culture of heavy drinking and sexual assault.

Could hurl insults at any other school given the opportunity. Given DCUM's readership, this thread is an exercise in futility.

Did you not see the thread on this very forum asking whether MIT does indeed offer a "terrible" undergrad experience.

You dislike rural schools. Got it. Also got that you don’t know how to spell.

I never hear bad things about Rice.

DCUM is the domain of the single line put down. The most targeted schools are either ones that posters want to establish their school as better than (or at least as good as -- think of UMD and UVA). Alternatively, they may target schools if they think the supporters of those schools slight their favored schools.

Schools that don't get this treatment are either geographically out of the DCUM picture (University of Washington), too small, or not targeted by the DCUM crowd (e.g. Old Dominion).

Semi-obscure school that is stuck in Texas and churns out future urologists.

UVA and Harvard are definitely not in the universal love category on DCUM.

Yale gets the most love of any of the Ivies on DCUM.

Effete school in terrible New Haven.
