| Penn State is despised |
+1 I went to Illinois and still LOVE Wisconsin. It's a great school in a nice little city and when the weather is decent in Madison, it's a beautiful beautiful place to be. |
|
OP here. The question was who is NOT hated on here, and ideally, who is universally loved here. No need to post colleges that generate nasty comments.
So far, it looks like only Wisconsin qualifies. Good to have one! |
Are you trolling for Wisconsin? Seems you can’t read. |
Hard to add William and Mary, when there are ten pages of comments on a What's Wrong with William and Mary thread. Are you saying Yale is universally loved, or only that it gets less hate than the other seven? |
|
Does everyone love big schools? No.
Does everyone love small schools? No. Therefore, there are no schools that are universally loved. |
|
Of others mentioned, Michigan gets slammed by UVA people whenever it is mentioned, Pitt gets criticized for early action for everyone, and Pomona always generates "no one has ever heard of it" knocks. Right?
Hence, Wisconsin as the crowd pleaser. |
+1 Classic DCUM. |
| JMU - alumni rave about their experiences |
True. But JMU is not love on DCUM. It's not good enough for the ratings-driven, window-sticker crowd. Wouldn't a JMU student be better served at a small liberal arts college? (Say most DCUM posters.) |
For heavy drinkers and people who don’t mind that Walked slashed education budgets in the state for eight years. |
The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference, and I am totally indifferent to Wisconsin. |
How is this responsive to the OP’s question?! |
|
I speculated starting this thread just last night on thread pertaining to NESCAC schools! Damn. Rarely see negative about:
Williams Amherst UNC Wisconsin Illinois Every other school gets trashed |
UNC gets lots of negative comments. Too parochial, too southern, cheating athletic department, etc. Stanford seems to be well respected. U of Washington isn't discussed much but doesn't seem to generate negative reactions. |
