L is League

And I looked DP up. Urbana Dictionary says it means Dynamic Programming?

I want to know too. Can someone post a link to DPL? Curious (non-DA) FCV parent here.

Is this it? https://www.dpleague.org/ Doesn't look like a lot of soccer leagues in the East if that's the plan for FCV.

This was the league for DA second teams correct?

You still don’t understand the difference between a club and a league.

Looks that way. I guess next year it will be for the ex-DA teams?

DPL as in Development Player League. A league for players on the cusp of making a DA roster. Originally they called these players DP's. DPL was/is a league for them, not affiliated with the federation.

FCV was always a member of this league. Also to love that true, it’s the old FCV logo. If this was just updated it would be the St. James logo.

They may become part of that league with Metro, Arlington, Top Hat, Baltimore Armour and South Jersey Elite but that hasn’t been finalized yet.

They are waiting to see exactly how many and who join that league.

Clubs will join but top players will leave for ECNL...

Less a reason to leave if there is significant buy in. People are buying the platform and the previous platform was fine, US Soccer just dumped it.

If they didn’t leave for ECNL during DA why would they now if the ex-DA clubs stick together?

You’re kidding right? DA was considered with ECNL top platform for exposure. You think that anyone of those top players family are going to pay into a program that’s not proven? They aren’t spending this much money on the unknown. More clubs like Tophat are switching to ECNL, unfortunately for FCV they burn that bridge so they will be left behind. Top players want top competition, period! Wait for next week more announcements to come. Hey, for nothing else this makes for great entertainment during the quarantine.

If the clubs remain the same and rosters mostly intact why not?

What is the real difference?

Showcases, top platforms, competition (because the top clubs will move to ECNL, or the kids will leave for ECNL) that would cause watered down competition. I can’t break it down any further. I am sorry this happened but it would be wise to really think what your Player will do if you don’t want her to stay on a very watered down team. Best of luck.

But but ECNL isn’t accepting the clubs. We are back to last year just a different name for a league. Colleges will go to both leagues, they did before and they will going forward.
