If ECNL does not accept DA’s and the DA’s stay in tact, allowing HS why would anyone leave their current team? |
Seriously. Only a sucker would buy into this BS about GAL being a quality league. Good luck to anyone foolish enough to go along with this. |
ECNL crew on overdrive, very funny! |
You can take our bench players. We'll take your top players. Have fun in the GAL. |
Not guaranteed to happen in the slightest. Lavers has his chance but was too arrogant to take it. |
An opportunity for FCV players to stay together and play the same clubs as last year or a couple leave to join a crappy Loudoun ECNL that will not make the big showcase events at ECNL or ever be a playoff team. I’m pretty sure FCV kids will stay with the new league for at least a year or two. Sorry, no influx of talent for you. |
Uou said I was wrong when I told you last week that DA would be terminated. You said I was wrong when I told you FCV, Arlington and MU were not going to be accepted by ECNL. We will see who's right on this one when rosters are announced. I know where I'd put my money |
I said none of those things, I’m not sure who you think I am. No players have made any moves at this time and if the situation is the same in terms of clubs, coaches, and styles, there is no reason to leave. Colleges were very happy to look at players from these clubs in the former league and there’s no reason they won’t in the new league. |
You don’t speak for players. That is a very different prediction than what an organization will do. |
Correct, but I know the players that have reached out to our club. You will have meaningful defections. Bookmark this post and come back to me when rosters are announced. |
It’s always good to have a backup plan. Reaching out happens every spring. There are no guarantees. |
They reached out in a vacuum of information. Things changed. Unless you got them to pay a deposit you simply fielded a call from a parent making sure their kid had a place to play. |
Also, many of those calls were made assuming ECNL would add at least one of the local clubs but not adding any of them and DA essentially doing nothing more than changing their name and offering the same HS opportunities as ECNL while providing a showcase opportunity means players are more likely to stay put with their know team.
As the new league forms ECNL will start reaching back out to clubs but will likely get sent to voicemail just as they did to those same clubs a couple days ago. |
Like I said, we will see who is right. So far I have been right about everything I said regarding DA and who is getting added to ECNL. The FCV people trying to calm their parents through the past week with their anonymous posts on this forum have consistently been wrong. One of us will be right about roster defections. |
When parents are concerned about uncertainty they reached out. There is certainty ahead and kids are more likely to stay with their known team with a similar path moving forward than they will moving. Kids have roles on teams and dialog with current college coaches via their club coach. There are more things on the line when they are getting closer to to committing than they would be served by changing teams now. |
