Can't the (American) Red Cross provide relief? They excel in handling basics, logistics, and more for the masses. And it would (temporarily) relieve the cost too.
And if Americans want to show their support, their contributions to RC would be a tangible way to do so.

Only if the US government let’s them in to do it. The feds won’t do that, though, because they’re trying to keep people away from these facilities they can’t report just how bad they are.
