Can't the (American) Red Cross provide relief? They excel in handling basics, logistics, and more for the masses. And it would (temporarily) relieve the cost too.
And if Americans want to show their support, their contributions to RC would be a tangible way to do so. |
Only if the US government let’s them in to do it. The feds won’t do that, though, because they’re trying to keep people away from these facilities they can’t report just how bad they are. |
And lord knows we can’t interrupt Dear Leader’s golf game to prevent children’s deaths. |
of course not. he's too busy tweeting to think about getting humanitarian supplies to the children's prisons. maybe he'll toss the babies a roll of paper towels at some point. it's funny - i seem to remember there being funds available for emergencies at one point. didn't we have some emergencies? wouldn't jailed babies not having toothbrushes qualify as an emergency? or are those funds just for walls. |

Just wanted to call out my fav quote: “What the president reiterated again yesterday, and he has said every day from when he sought this office, is we have a crisis of illegal immigration.” — Vice President Mike Pence, meeting with members of Congress on Wednesday. |
Meanwhile this is what the Trump administration is doing to a teenager who had an emergency c-section:

| Oh well. |
It would be more convenient for Border Patrol if the baby died. Mom too. |
Her husband should have demanded help fir his wife and baby. |
Kind of a bonehead move to come over in the first place. |
So she had her anchor baby early via emergency c section while committing a crime? They’re really not sending their best. |
This is torture and the UN should sanction the US now for human rights violations. |
| Why doesnt the UN send help? Or why dont we just close the border until we can sort out (meaning our politicians can sort out) how to humanely deal with a massive unprecedented influx. Havent they said they do not have the money to keep up? |

UN has 1 peacekeeping operation in this hemisphere-Haiti. It's on an island shared with the Dominican Republic. USA is the largest contributor to the UN overall. No UN presence in Central America to deal with the issues. USA-funds the UN and multilaterals. Global Compact on Migration-different info on census such as citizenship. US politicians object.
https://peacekeeping.un.org/en/mission/onuca NA currently US intervention for safety and security? Non-security issues impacting migration? Ideally US funds to the UN should be used. Pay the UN and multilaterals plus pay to deal with anything for this hemisphere? |
