To answer your bizarre whataboutism and straw men, 1) They don't rescind the degree but I'm sure they return any donations. 2) If a student did this two years into the program, the kid would certainly be expelled. You don't see a consistently enforceable principle here because you're experiencing what's known as cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias. You're also making comparisons to hypotheticals that as I have pointed out are easily answered. Are you the moron who presented someone's tweet as his own opinion yesterday? Just stop. You're not a good person. |
2 years into your degree, you could be kicked out for “conduct unbecoming a Harvard student.” Also, a couple of years ago, a bunch of admits got rescinded for posting racist memes on a Facebook page. So it’s not a new rule and there’s recent precedent for this kind of penalty. After you graduate, nothing much they can do. You probably get elected to Congress. The fact that you aren’t going to be able to enforce a rule in every single instance where it has been violated doesn’t mean you don’t have rules. |
are you really that dense. College students do this kind of stuff all the time the only difference here is that someone ratted him out. This ratting out was done with political motivations. If he had the same ideology as David Hogg this stuff would have never been reported That is why conservatives are pissed. It's the double standard. |
If he had the same ideology as David Hogg he wouldn't be a racist anti-semite and his ass would be headed to Cambridge. |
+1 Racists always think everyone is as racist as them and we all say the same terrible sh#t behind closed doors. Nope, you're just a bad person. Every teenager isn't out here threatening to shoot Jews and using the N word. |
For heaven's sake, have an original thought. https://twitter.com/queerBengali/status/1141003994111889408 You couldn't even remove the emoji at the bottom? Sigh. |
https://twitter.com/travisakers/status/1140725472206184448 Yawn. Have an original thought. |
+1 Seriously people. This kid used terrible language in a public enough way that he got caught and faced consequences. Let's not put him on the pedestal as the poster boy for free speech. We want our kids to be bette than that. |
| Although I think Harvard did the right thing, and also that this kid has a screw loose if his reaction after seeing 35 students and teachers getting gunned down was to advocate against stricter gun laws, I wonder what his life will be like now that he has been so publicly shamed. Will he make a career as a full on racist, right-wing hate spewer? Or try to atone for his sins? |
Perhaps not original, but more entertaining and thoughtful than most of what you post. |
I can guarantee you that if David Hogg did this, conservative would rat him out. And guess what Harvard would do? They'd rescind the acceptance. |
+1 No college wants a kid ranting about Jews and n***** and fantasies of violence. Seriously. This shouldn't be a political issue. Harvard rescinded the admissions of two accepted students for plagiarism. This is far worse. |
| ^^^Conservatives |
JFC what kinds of college kids are you hanging out with? No they don't. |
| The dude’s conservative views were well known when he was admitted. Indeed, his activism was probably WHY he was admitted. What they didn’t know was that he was a racist. The decision to rescind was not driven by his politics. |
