Solidcore pricing

Otherwise I think solidcore devotees are kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place, because the workout requires an expensive piece of equipment AND a coach, and thus is pricey.

Solidcore is based on Lagree (and you can read all about the dramatic history of that relationship here: https://www.washingtonian.com/2016/11/27/anne-mahlum-solidcore-nasty-legal-battles/). I've taken Lagree, in Denver, and found it boring by comparison. They also use dopey terms for the poses ("mermaid" "awkward skater") and the vibe in general wasn't nearly as intense. I feel like it's marketed more towards women and watered down accordingly (because we all want that :roll. But I'm sure there are those who would switch to that from solidcore if the price were right.

20:34, that's funny-I guess we all have different perceptions of the coaches. Every time I've taken with Kat, legs have been super short and we barely do any upper body. Ryan tends to do the most upper body, but is also good about mixing it up (and god help us all when he decides to focus on legs). I think almost all of them are great, it's more a matter of finding the best fit.

Isn't there a lagree method studio in Bethesda? When I last looked, I didn't think the prices were sufficiently different.

Oh yeah--Sculpt Studio. It's a little cheaper but not much.

For those interested in the Bethesda-only 8 class pricing, it's $199/month. You can buy through May (promo ends at the end of May) and it will renew at that rate for three months. Then you have to choose a new pricing option.

Thanks, I guess that gives me 2.5 more months to come up with an alternative.

I had the same thought.

Bethesda 10-pack is temporarily back.

I wish Bethesda wasn't the only studio with these types of price breaks. I go to WW and that studio basically has nothing (no Classpass, higher monthly unlimited, etc). I think Bethesda and WW basically cannibalize each other (probably more so to WW's detriment).

Agreed. WW was my home studio at first, and then I started going to Bethesda occasionally to take class with Ryan but still mostly stuck with WW. So going to Bethesda only is going to be weird, but that deal is too good to pass up. My sense is that Bethesda has *so* much competition between Soul, CPY, various barre studios, yoga, etc., that they have to do these promos to stay in the mix. I also feel like there are fewer dedicated Bethesda regulars, or would be without these pricing breaks. It overall skews a bit younger than WW, and my guess is there's more churn. But who knows. I really wish they would put WW on ClassPass--I'm going to miss my regular WW class.

Interesting. I assumed that WW did not have these deals because they had a steadier client base. I take advantage of all the Bethesda-only price and prefer it due to distance, but really, WW is a much nicer studio.

That's what I meant--maybe I didn't articulate it well. I think WW does have a steadier client base (and less competition in the immediate area), hence the lack of deals there. I don't necessarily prefer one studio facility over the other, besides the free parking at WW. But that doesn't matter at 6am!

And agree with all the above! Send this to solidcore, please!!!

Bumping this to say that I have tried the above, multiple times. Even when I choose my Bethesda-only 8 pack or an off-peak class, MBO automatically selects from my 40 pack (i.e., not restricted to off-peak or Bethesda). I have an email out to the MBO app specifically, because I've already emailed Bethann too many times this morning.

Once I get it resolved, I'm going to complain to solidcore, not to my studio manager. It is a waste of her time, and mine, to have to deal with this nonsense. This isn't rocket science.
