I keep reading about Lagree supreformer, which sounds very similar to solidcore. It would be great if that or something similar would come to the area for a little price competition. Otherwise I think solidcore devotees are kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place, because the workout requires an expensive piece of equipment AND a coach, and thus is pricey.
Solidcore is based on Lagree (and you can read all about the dramatic history of that relationship here: https://www.washingtonian.com/2016/11/27/anne-mahlum-solidcore-nasty-legal-battles/). I've taken Lagree, in Denver, and found it boring by comparison. They also use dopey terms for the poses ("mermaid" "awkward skater") and the vibe in general wasn't nearly as intense. I feel like it's marketed more towards women and watered down accordingly (because we all want that ). But I'm sure there are those who would switch to that from solidcore if the price were right. 20:34, that's funny-I guess we all have different perceptions of the coaches. Every time I've taken with Kat, legs have been super short and we barely do any upper body. Ryan tends to do the most upper body, but is also good about mixing it up (and god help us all when he decides to focus on legs). I think almost all of them are great, it's more a matter of finding the best fit.
