How? You could buy a 40 pack when they had sales, which they used to quarterly. That brought the average class cost down to $26/class. The cheapest class now is $27 (either off-peak, or the 12 classes/month at $325). Off-peak used to be $25/class. The monthly unlimited went up by a whopping 33%. So, please, tell me, how will this lower the price for some people? Look, I expected they'd raise the prices at some point, because they're a business. But this new structure forces a choice between flexibility and even remotely reasonably pricing. Moreover, the manner in which it was done was disingenuous and insulting. For PPs looking for other options: look into F45. It's not like solidcore, but looks like fun, at least. I can't fathom moving to barre or pilates, but then I love the intensity of the solidcore environment. Part of what we pay for is the coaching, and that's also not something that's easy to recreate. Off to write a strongly-worded letter and figure out how best to make my voice heard! For those who feel similarly, please consider complaining on social media or to studio managers or something. Maybe if enough of us do, they'll make some workable adjustment. -OP |
They are available via ClassPass, which offers a free trial or a free week. It ranges from 9-11 credits per class, depending on the time slot. I estimate each class is approx $17; but credits are cheaper the more you buy. Side note - Solidcore Tyson’s and Bethesda are on ClassPass too - classes are 9-18 credits. You can try ClassPass and juggle a few studios. |
My gym has Pilates Reformers. I do leg and ab work like Solidcore classes. I don't do arm work though. Just use weights. |
They likely can’t help it given the high rent areas they choose to locate in.
I am always amazed how so many yoga places can remain in business in a given area! |
You do realize that not everyone bought the 40-pack on sale, right? That’s usage patterns. Look, I get why you are upset and I’m upset too, but you are being a bit disingenuous if you use the sale price of a 40 pack as your starting point for everyone. |
Sure, I know that not everyone would buy the 40 pack on sale, but that's only one of the issues. The bottom line is that they increased the cheapest options roughly 10% *and* drastically reduced flexibility (because to get the cheap options now you either need to lock in to 12 classes/month or do off-peak, which not everyone can do) *and* they substantially increased the cost of the unlimited membership. And they couched as doing their clients a favor. If they'd been up front about making changes because their expenses increased, I'd be less pissed. Talk about messaging fail. |
NP here-I think one of the reasons some people are so upset is that this really screws over their highest usage clients (who also, I think, tend to be their most vocal and loyal customers). |
.... and crazy |
Yes. This is exactly it. Another annoying thing is for those that frequent the off-peak classes, it would be incredibly annoying to purchase a single class every time you book one. For those that have complained, has anyone received a response yet? Would love to hear how they plan on smoothing this over. Do people truly think they are raising prices because they need to or because they can? I haven't noticed any significant drop in attendance in the classes I've been to. The only exception being some of the newer coaches that have less of a following. |
I emailed my studio manager to ask where to send feedback, but haven't heard back yet. I couldn't find contact info for the executives on the website. May post a negative review on Yelp if email gets no response. I'm taking class tomorrow morning, so will ask my coach then where to direct feedback. If they *need* to raise prices, they should be clear about why. Where is this extra money going? My kids' pricey daycare raises rates every where, and they always tell us exactly where that money goes. You know, treating us like adults. |
I am a PP who is off peak only, and this weekend I got a 4 pack for $99, and now I just logged on and see that there are no more off-peak packages???? WTF! I recommend posting feedback on their instagram. I know the owner uses it heavily. |
Just heard back from studio manager: she said to email solidcore@solidcore.co She said she would also take feedback, too, so if folks would prefer to email both, that's also an option.

Go to orange theory. Unlimited is like $179 per month. |
Let's say you are a 5x/week customer OTF @179/20 classes = 8.95/class SC @400/20 classes = 20/class I like SC but not enough to pay $400/month. Let's be honest, there are some weeks when I can barely make it to 3 classes a week. And OTFs schedule is much more flexible with earlier start times. SCs first class is 6am which means you're not leaving there until 6:55 at the very earliest. OTFs first class is 5am. By 6, I'm done. By 7, I've gone to the grocery store to pick up dinner and had a shower already. I need to be home no later than 6:30 to get the kids motivated to get to school. Starting morning routine at 7am is just too late. |
You know they’re completely different workouts, right? I don’t need to pay for HIIT using equipment I have in my gym or at home. |
