I think this pretty clearly shows why releasing the night before is a good idea and good practice if there isn't a set time at which results will be released.

Also, sadly, I think what makes many of us nervous that they aren't up yet even though it's technically not even working hours on the release date is our limited faith in D.C. institutions, including this one. Would it really shock anyone if it doesn't go up until noon? Or ten tonight? Not saying those will happen, but I'm not sure I would find it that surprising if there's a major screw-up (even though this process apparently has worked decently enough in past).

I agree. I'm not sitting on the edge of my seat but I expected results to be posted sometime over night since there wasn't a time listed today. Sure they aren't technically late but by not giving a time, they are opening themselves up to a lot of people contacting them by phone, email, twitter, facebook, whatever.

If there is nothing by 8am today, I'll give all this whining some credence. Until then, you all sound silly. Yes, we are all anxious. But we are not talking about an age old practice of night before results. The common lottery hasn't been around long enough to have a common practice and maybe they decided it was dumb to say one thing and do another. Results are due at 8am today. Let's see what happens.

Does anyone get into Latin at fifth grade off of the waitlist? How far into the waitlist might they go?

Latin waitlist for 5th usually goes to about 10-15. We got in with an under 10 number a couple of years ago.

Last year they went to 7 by August, 9 by October.

For 2016-17 they went to 16 by August.
