If you get in at a school, is there usually a set timeframe where you have to let a school know your decision or does it vary school by school? Wondering about Basis, in particular.

Usually the first business day in May, but I think it can vary.

Also wondering if there is any advantage to enrolling more quickly if you have siblings and only one gets in during the initial lottery. Will that get the second sibling (in my case, twins) onto the wait list sooner, and give you a better chance to get in during the time while others might still be deciding whether to enroll?

I doubt it would matter, the lists seem to move very little until May. After that, it could give you an edge.

Yes. Their preference will change from sibling accepted to sibling enrolled.

I think it could help, OP, in a perfect storm scenario. There would have to be two older siblings, with younger siblings in the same grade, and the offer would have to go out in the window of time before one of the kids qualifies for sibling enrolled preference. But the likelihood of that actually happening is low, and the likelihood of the slower family getting an offer eventually is high. So I wouldn't sweat it too hard.

I don't think time you enrolled the sibling would matter -- whenever the status changes from "sibling accepted" to "sibling enrolled," your other sibling would move up on the wait list to wherever their overall number puts them in that category. As long as you did all this by the enrollment deadline, no one else could pip you to a spot you'd otherwise be able to get, because no one else would be able to enroll formally, either, right?
