LAMB closing its existing campuses and consolidating to one campus

If they announce in next couple of months, there would be more than sufficient notice for parents. Esp. when you think about last summer when several charter schools only announced in the summer after families had committed that they would move for the start of the school year. The school needs to have something concrete to announce, before they can announce it. Whether it is in Ward 4 or elsewhere, there is a clear advantage to having 1 campus and all the LAMB families including myself would be pleased about that. So, let's just relax!

Except that that children are coming off of common lottery waitlists all summer and people are turning down other schools on the assumption that they will be able to attend LAMB. If there is information that can be shared with some parents it should be shared with all parents.

There is nothing concrete to share. There is a possibility of a move in 2018, that is all. There has always been a possibility of a move to consolidate - LAMB has been clear about that and when you choose LAMB or honestly any charter school in the city, you are taking the risk that the campus may move. If you don't want that risk, you should choose your neighborhood public school. When there is something firm, I'm sure they'll tell us. Are you expecting the administration to share with us every time they visit a potential property or put in a bid for a property? For comparison, when my employer, a law firm decided to move us to a new part of the city, there wasn't some employee vote on the issue. They decided and let us know. Of course, here there will be public comment, charter board approval etc. My point is just that we have to trust that administration is working on it and will let us know when appropriate.

There is apparently something concrete enough to share with an entire class.

Yes I do expect transparency from the School. I'm sorry that you work for a terrible employer who would do that. My law firm also moved and promised employees it would move to a location within a mile of the current spot. This is what Lee Montessori did a few months ago. Mundo Verde continues to subsidize buses to offset the difficulty with their move. Lamb is being their usual opaque selves and expecting people to be happy with it. This is ridiculous and I will be happy to gather a group to fight it.

After our experience earlier this year, lamb has lost all our trust. You're a fool to trust them too.

I did not say my employer moved to a far off part of the city, I just said they didn't consult us about every location they were considering and we shouldn't expect LAMB to. If Lamb has lost all your trust, I am not sure why you would continue to send your kids there, if you do. I am not sure why you want to gather a group to fight an event that hasn't even occurred yet, but good luck to you if that's what you want to focus your energy on.

LAMB is not known for having a professional communications model. In fact, it is one of its Achilles Heels. So the fact that anything like this is leaking out on DCUM does not surprise me IN THE LEAST. Great school because of its education model and FANTASTIC teachers, but shitty communications model and seriously lacking in transparency.

Why not be transparent and stop posting anonymous

Well done on swinging your balls with that demand! And it's ironic as you are posting anonymously. The school already knows I am pissed at them. And it is clear to the LAMB community too through the listserve. I'll reveal myself after you do. But I smell an angry troll, so I doubt you will. But I have a quarter here in pocket, just in case you do.

Also, ps. Lee Montessori announced its move for August 2017 during the summer of 2017 after the enrollment deadline and after assuring parents it would not move until 2018. Then they opened 2 weeks late leaving parents scrambling for childcare during that time. So no school is perfect and you have to choose what works for you. But no point attending a school and then having no trust in it.

I agree. If I were so unhappy and miserable, I would leave.

Has anyone asked the principal directly?

Called and called and she can't be bothered to answer. I'm
Sure we aren't the only ones calling and emailing. Although who knows.

She said directly and publicly at the most recent Coffee with the Principal that there is no location lined up. As as always, they would like to find a place to consolidate into one campus. The notes were shared on the parent list serve. That seems transparent to me.

It's not transparent because the Admin (not just Cristina) has told some people about being in final stages of a consolidated location that will be announced within a few weeks. I'm happy with the news, but they aren't doing themselves any favors by not addressing it with everyone. Even in a "we can't tell you yet, but something is brewing" way.

The only thing we can verify is the news that Cristina shared with us at Coffee with the Principal. All these other reports of someone being told about a location have been reported only anonymously on this site. There is no way to verify them and not a single person has come forward on the school list serve to report that Cristina has told them directly. I would like them to get a consolidated location too, but I won't believe it until someone puts their name to it.

What more is there to say? All evidence suggests that LAMB has been straight up lying to its parents and community about this subject for weeks/months.

Its one thing to make a decision not to disclose information, and say "We haven't entered into any agreement, we're seeking a consolidate home as always." That's perfectly appropriate if that's your uniform message. But to have assistant principals telling prospective parents on tours, and Cristina telling SOME parents directly that they are likely moving to a new consolidated campus in 2018, while AT THE EXACT SAME TIME turning around and telling other parents "nothing to see here"? That is just lying.

This from the school who hid their administrators and sent their lawyer out to say "we were never notified about any past misconduct of our sexual predator teacher" and then when confronted with the fact that the school had, in fact, been previously told by another teacher there that the sexual predator had been taking students alone into an unmarked storage room during school hours, were forced to say "oh, well, yes we were notified of that, we meant no VICTIM had ever notified us". And then decided to NEVER notify the families that had been taught by the sexual predator in past years? I've never gotten over that.

And now, true to form, the administration is hiding and refusing to answer questions about information they have themselves introduced to the discussion by telling a whole class of parents, among other people ("new campus coming!")

I'm about done with this crap, tbqh.

please leave. i'm sure you can find other ways to impart your culture and desire for spanish language on your precious-only-kids-who-matter-in-the-entire-LAMB-community.

the amount of entitled parent complaining about how other people should make their own choices easier is totally beyond me.

I'm so over this attitude of "if you have a criticism of the administration, you should just leave." No. That's why nobody is being held accountable at LAMB.

LOL. Some people just never learn (or are employed by the school).

Also the idea that choosing any charter school in the city exposes to your risk that the campus may move is simply wrong. I'll not bother to list the many peer schools of LAMB that have no meaningful risk of moving in the foreseeable future, you can do your own research on that.
